I just want to know if this will work. I have a wireless router in one side of my house but it does not reach the other side of the house. What I want to know is if I could get another wireless router, plug it into the wall plug, than would it pick up signals from the other router giving me wifi in more parts of my house.

I got a acer aspire 3683 (intel celron 430 @1.73ghz, 1gb ram, intel gma 950) and i LOVE games but i simply cant play them on this pants machine all it can do it heat my lap cause it gets so god dam hot can anyone suggest what i should do ....either tell me how to overclock this thing or upgrade plz plz help me

it's not illegal to buy a wireless adapter.
If fact, you can now buy antenna boosters.
can we assume that if someone does not have wep security on, they don't care if someone connects?
so far I've found no laws against it in N.Y.
please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry for not putting all the info last time. ok i downloaded AVG from download.com, after it downloaded i installed it and updated it,i had norton AV on the whole time it downloaded and when it installed, after i ran the first scan with avg then i turned off norton and uninstalled it( i did not know u could only run 1 AV at a time).I would just like to know if my AVG is fine (nothing wrong with it since i had norton on when i installed it).

What if i bot another wireless router and put it in the center of the house and justed plug it in. Would it pick up wireless signals from the the other wireless router and extend the wireless signal?I just need some cheap ideas to extend my wireless router signal.

can the same kind of virus infect linux and windows? or does it have to be a completely different code to infect the other?

ex.. if someone wrote a virus to infect a windows system, if that same virus was unleashed in linux will it have the same effect?

I want to try a Linux based OS on my machine as dual boot system w/ Windows Vista. Found lots of info in net, tried Ubuntu Live CD (without install), however cannot decide which OS will be the best for me. I’m not experienced w/ Linux and just want to try open source soft. I just ordered a wireless adapter
(NetGear Wireless-G USB 2.0 Adapter WG111) and a wireless router (NetGear Wirelss G WGR614) I have two computers i'm trying to hook up to the internet. Will I be able to hook the router to one of them and have it connect to the internet or do i need an adapter for both?
