I am so frustrated now. I just got a new Dell desktop: Intel Core2 Dual processor (2GHz) and 2GB memory, run on Vista Home Premium. It has internal wireless card. Internet connection is terriably slow. No problem with my router and network, because I have a laptop running on XP. The connection is just fine from my laptop in the same location. I have talked to Dell Support people, two on the phone and two in their online chat room. No one can really help me solve the problem. I am about to replace Vista with XP. Is Vista really this bad, as I had been hearing before I made the purchase? If so, why Dell and others ship systems with VIsta in the first place? Any other solutions beyond getting rid of Vista? Thanks.

I have a Compaq Presario C500 that came with Vista. However, I have been having a lot of problems with Vista so I want to change to XP. I talked to the tech support guy and he said that my laptop was not compatible with XP and that people that have done it have experienced problems with the screen being unclear, etc. I wanted to know if anyone has tried to install XP on this model and if it works and then also how to go about doing it.

I have a HP pavillion 9410us with a geforce 6150 video card. I upgraded to 2gb of ram and it says it has up to 287mb of shared video memory but it will only let me share 128mb. Is there a way to increase the memory to anything more then 128mb. I want to go up to at least 256mb or 512mb.
