I have a HP pavillion 9410us with a geforce 6150 video card. I upgraded to 2gb of ram and it says it has up to 287mb of shared video memory but it will only let me share 128mb. Is there a way to increase the memory to anything more then 128mb. I want to go up to at least 256mb or 512mb.

I think his mb has onboard vid that shares vid memory similar to hypermem on an ati card. 128 is resident on the card and the motherboard will pull up to 287. Haven't played with his bios, but don't think there are settings to force memory to always have that reserved.

This machine is NOT meant to be a gaming machine. It is a very good media computer and will serve most people well, but most gamers will be disappointed. I recommend having realistic expectations when gaming. Remember that video is a combo of 3d effects, frame rate and screen resolution. Back down your screen resolution (most people have it higher than useful). Use your vid card settings to find a happy medium between the three. You may use hardware accelleration but back off a bit when you start to recieve bluescreens. Off load all unneeded processes. Flash your bios to latest version and upgrade your vid card drivers. BEFORE you do this back up your registry and download a registry cleaner.

Well let me tell you you won't see a whole lot of difference honestly. But if you need to, some of them are configured in the BIOS options when you first turn on your computer. Some other ones are configured to just increase the amount of RAM they access whenever they need to, like if you open a game.

I'm not sure about the 6150 and I don't know if it is a seperate video card or onboard, but if it's onboard check the BIOS. If it's a card you might have Nvidia software installed that allows you to do it.

i think of of in terms of scaling, on the grounds which you're using an better decision, your integrated chip struggles extremely. even nevertheless, I incredibly have had no matters viewing video clips with the GeForce 6150 for video clips. Did you are attempting twiddling around with the settings indoors the nVidia interest supervisor? additionally, you do now no longer might desire to wish to return a computing device. you are going to be able to desire to decide to purchase a less costly pictures card, to help which incorporate your video clips.
