I have a custom built computer, in it, it has a AMD FX-60 dual core CPU. I also have 2 GB of corsair RAM, 2 Nvidia 7900 GTO graphics cards, a 600 watt power supply, and a Asus SLI-Premium motherboard. And etc. My system temp usually never exceeds 50c. Average is around 48c.

So the problem here is, recently i was trying to overclock my CPU, and i failed miserably, forcing me to clear the RTC/BIOS.
Ever since then, whenever i play games such as Oblivion, Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, etc, my computer always shuts down. These games worked before i tried overclocking.

Advice on how to fix? Thanks in advance.

you have damaged your motherboard's northbridge. this is will cause instability. Get a new motherboard, if you are not sure then go to your local computer store they will help you replace the broken parts. (most likely the motherboard)

As the others have said it does sound likea heat issue. Games are more resource intensive and when your computer uses more power it heats up more. There are alot of things you can do about it. the first one is to clean out your case of dust, get some canned air and blow all the dust out of it making sure the ventilation for the fans is clear. If you are comfortable doing it, its not that hard, you can remove the CPU fan/sink and reapply some thermal grease. Might ad an extra case fan and/or a higher performance cpu fan and heat sink.

Hi. The BIOS defaults sometimes are not optimized for your system. Take a close look at things like RAM speed, FSB, etc. Also look for a shutdown temperature.

probally a memory issue upgrade your memory or you may want to check your irq s video should be on irq 11 alone network card on 10 alone if sound and video are both on 11 it can shut you down when the call is to both devices and the cashe is full

yes, your problem is cause by you are trying to overclock your PC. actually you should know that your speed of PC will increase when you overclock your PC. therefore your PC temperature also increase. that why when your PC suddenly turn off. beware that may risk you hard disc. so try to control your PC temp when you overclocking. if necessary decrease your PC temp before start overclock and monitor your temp level

Try underclocking the proc - it's not looking good for you. Though it might still be a video card issue - when you say shutdown, is it a complete blackout or a blue screen failure?

hey try to exchange the ram you got. buy new ones and replace them. if it still doesn't work try buying a new video card. it is expensive like get the advance new ones. don't buy it off of EBay to to a electronic store and get the latest version.
