on the laptop the icon for power is always "On AC Power" even when not plugged into ac. it never changes to charging or anything and under device manager it shows unknown devices under batteris. and i just replace the battery wit same exact one that it came wit

is there a way to print out a number of pages with an order number in them?

example

page 1 has a bottom left number of 1 and without changing anything the next page has 2 instead of 1 so the numbers essentially print in number

I checked the products catalog from a local computer store to buy RAM cards, I want to get the 1GB then there are these 3 types. What do they mean, which is better? Also, do they have any negative effect on the video card if I mix up different types? (e.g. I installed a 512MB 128-bit AGP video card, what type of RAM would be the most recommended from those I mentioned?)

I'm sorry if I might not make sense, I'm very thankful there are people like you who understand techno-mumbo-jumbo and have the time to explain these things to confused consumers like me..
Please explain in the simplest way possible.

I just upgraded my old rig and am now having problems getting it to post...

Old Rig:
ASUS p5ld2 deluxe
Pentium D 820
2 GB DDR2 667 Corsair
WD 120GB Caviar

New Rig: Everything is the same except the new HDD's and the processor
Core 2 duo 2.13 Ghz
2 x 200 GB WD Caviars (Hoping for RAID 0)

I flashed the BIOS to the lastest version b4 the upgrades and I have reset the CMOS, and everything is connected correctly. I have noticed however, that a red light now appears on my video card (Radeon X1800XL) which was not there b4

Im dead in the water right now, school is around the corner, the Pentium D is fried.......HELP!!!!

When I try to write the letter (ñ), you know in the keyboard when I press ALT + 164 this (ñ) character appears. When I try to use the Alt + 164 nothing comes out. It used to come out in my old desktop but I can't use it in my laptop. Is there something I need to do so that it comes out, because I really need that.

I travel in my work, and I'm sick of hotels charging $10 a night for internet access, or not having internet access, or having it, 'but it's broken', etc.

I'm thinking of one of those plug-in devices that connect your Laptop to the internet via the cell phone network. But I want SPEED! what's the fastest network out there for that? Reliability and cost is important too, but not as important as speed.

I have a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet I am trying to extract data from. I want to make a column that gives the sum of values from only certain columns accross a row. I want to do this for many rows, so am looking for a way to do this without having to manually enter each cell individually into an equation.

For example, I am looking only to add, say, the data from columns D,F,H,J,L,N,P,and R, all from cells from the same row. Is there a way to do this with a generic equation, so I do not have to put D3,F3,H3,J3, etc.? I have too many rows to do by manual equation writing. Surely there is an easier way!?

Im awaiting the arrival of my macbookpro and I was going to use it for gaming(WoW, BF2, and so on) Until I start college. I was going to use the bootcamp software to play these games.
