When I try to write the letter (ñ), you know in the keyboard when I press ALT + 164 this (ñ) character appears. When I try to use the Alt + 164 nothing comes out. It used to come out in my old desktop but I can't use it in my laptop. Is there something I need to do so that it comes out, because I really need that.

you need to hold ALT, the blue Fn button, and use the numbers in blue on the 890UIOJKLM keys NOT the numbers at the top.

the blue numbers on the letter keys are the laptop equivalent of the numberpad on the right of a normal keyboard but you need to hold the extra blue Fn to use them.

so, hold Alt + Fn + type JOU.

You must use the numeric key pad the regular numeric keys across teh top of the keyboard will not work. Laptops usually ahve a function key which will convert a section of letters to work as a numeric keypad. The numeric keypad keys on a laptop keyboard appear as smaller numerals printed on the key with the regular sized letter.

Another option is to buy a USB numeric keypad for your laptop. You can find these on sale for arround $10. These come in handy if you do a lot of spread sheet work as well.
