9800 Pro still better. It has DOUBLE the number of shaders and almost DOUBLE the memory bandwidth compared to the X1550. X1550 is just an entry level graphics card.

Consider the the 7600GS AGP. BUT great performance comes from 7900GS AGP, X1950 Pro AGP or 7950GT AGP.

The Ati X1550 256MB Agp will provide with approximately twice the performance of Ati 9800 pro 256mb

the X1550 is running at higher clocks (450-core clock & 520 Mem. Clock), while the 9800 pro will run at (380-core clk. & 340 mem. clok)

Moreover, the 9800 pro has a small fan that cools the core only, which could cost you a bit of money if you are overclocking. On the other hand, the X1550 has a nice big fan cooling most of the memory modules and the GPU core.

While the ati 9800 pro is considerd to be a good budget card, it is strongly recommended that you pay a little extra to get the X1550. You will not go wrong with any of these cards, either 9800 pro or X1550. Both of them will provide you with extraordinary performance and quality. However, some extra money fot the Ati X1550 could save you another upgrade 3years later. :)

Thanks
