When it says I need a copy of Windows, Can a downloaded copy of Windows burned onto a disc be acceptable?

You need a real copy of Windows. It's the exact same install as if you were putting it on any other computer. You have to activate it to prove you bought it legitimately. The Boot Camp disk is just a set of drivers you install after you get Windows going.
