I travel in my work, and I'm sick of hotels charging $10 a night for internet access, or not having internet access, or having it, 'but it's broken', etc.

I'm thinking of one of those plug-in devices that connect your Laptop to the internet via the cell phone network. But I want SPEED! what's the fastest network out there for that? Reliability and cost is important too, but not as important as speed.

Verizon currently has the fastest network for these type of services (EVDO is proven to be several times faster then EDGE or 3G).

When getting a card, make sure you get a card that is "Rev A" capable. Verizon just upgraded their network, but is selling both the older 1X and the newer Rev A equipment.

I travel all the time and use this solution. It is great because you can use it anywhere... On the train, at the airport, even in a moving cab.
