Easy. Just show that you are responsible enough to own and use a business machine such as laptop and not just because all your friends have one. If your Dad feels you just need a new high tech TOY, he may not be buying.

depends on your age. i mean, if ur like 5 or 9 or 10 (which i doubt u r) then u dont need a laptop. but if u r around the age of 13 15 17 19 .... than i would sugest saving for it and paying some of it. try and tell ur dad that u need a laptop for school like u said. a laptops an amazing way to keep ur grades up

If you are still a minor, he cannot control your access to different websites. He is looking out for you and doing his job being a parent.
If you are 18 and above, then save up for it, they are pretty cheap these days.
Buy your own laptop..

I agree. If you're at the age where you believe you should have your own computer, then you're at the age where you can buy your own. Or at least agree to pay some percentage of it.
