Whats wrong with my laptops battery?

on the laptop the icon for power is always "On AC Power" even when not plugged into ac. it never changes to charging or anything and under device manager it shows unknown devices under batteris. and i just replace the battery wit same exact one that it came wit

It sounds like the charger for your battery has failed. If you know any one with a similar laptop maybe you can see if swapping over their's instead of yours makes the problem go away. If so you know what you need to buy.
