One I can use for school work and downloading/burning music,surfing the web. I build one on dell n it cam out 2 $838 is that good? Is this lap top good enough?

i have a audio issue, my computer is an old compaq presario that was given to my family (mom and i) from one of her sisters. everything works fine since its running on windows 98 and has dial-up. i have an audio applications disk but its pretty much useless. i dont know what the exact parameters are for the machine (rom, ram, hz, etc...).

what do i need, besides a more up-to-date computer? what do i do?

I'm about to buy a computer for law school and I was wondering if the specs I have picked out will be suitable. I am mostly gonna use it for word processing but will also have some music on it. Not much into gaming so that shouldn't be a problem. I'm mostly concerned about overheating problem cause my Dell sucked. I was looking at a HP dv2000t with these specs.......

A friend of mine just got a computer with Windows Vista. She types an email it does not spell check. She went to Tools, Options, selected another language and applied. She turned it back to English and applied and still does not work. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone!

So I have save all the pictures saved on my computer, and I want to make a slide show for youtube. I've made them on websites but youtube wont take urls so I have to make on on movie maker. I have a G4 Apple Powerbook and I generally use the most recent version of Firefox, but I also have Safari & Internet Explorer. I'm waiting for something to become available online, and I'm impatient, so I want to know the minute it's there. But, I want to do other things then just click refresh over and over and over again. Is it possible to set it so that it will automatically refresh the page every couple of minutes so I don't have to do it?

Hi, somehow my pc got some strange problems like:
When i double click on a " File, folder, avi file " it opens the file, but when i double click on a software icon on my desktop like Internet explorer, photoshop, etc..., it doens't open anymore by double clicking "software icons", but it works on files. But i discover a way to open my software icon, by left clicking the mouse and pressing "open", then it opens the software.

And somehow my Oficce 2007, excel, words, won't open even with both techniques. My Internet Explorer lost some tools like the block where you put the www.???.com, i went to "tools" in my "IE" and i check all the tool boxes, but there was no visible problems with my tool box.
But everytime when i open the IE, the www.???.com box just wasn't there anymore...
How can i reinstall my IE?

All this problems came at the same time. What can i do to solve all this problem?

If put the charger in the back, It wont do anything anymore, I have to wiggle the damn thing and push down on it really hard and i might be lucky to reboot the comp and get past the windows xp start page. i bought another charger thinking that was the issue but no dice. so anyone know if theres an easy fix to this or exaclty what is wrong.

I connected both my computers. The second computer is able to access all the files on the first one, but when I try to access the second computer from the first one, it asks for the username and password.

I tried all the damn passwords and usernames I had. can someone help me to solve this puzzle. actually I dont know what to enter into that dialouge box.
