I connected both my computers. The second computer is able to access all the files on the first one, but when I try to access the second computer from the first one, it asks for the username and password.

I tried all the damn passwords and usernames I had. can someone help me to solve this puzzle. actually I dont know what to enter into that dialouge box.

best answer gets 10 frm me.

well as far as the information you provided, I can give very basic sort of answer.
First of all check if both of the computers are in the same domain or Workgroup.
if it still ask for the username and password, enter "Administrator" into the username and provide it administrative password. if you forgot or dont have have one try with a blank password.

This is normal behavior for Windows. When the login screen. pops up try logging in as the local "Administrator" (not the domain administrator) for that machine. If the administrator's has no password just leave that field blank.

You could also create a new local user on the machine that you are connecting to and log in as that person.

Unfortunately there is no way that I know of for eliminating the login screen. It is Window's way of keeping your system safe from unwanted intruders.

In My Network Places, if you can see the Shared Folder on the First PC from the Second PC, just Drag & Drop.

Then, on the First PC, open the folder to get your files.

I'm additionally having issues with Yahoo - can entry website, however all browsing is totally sluggish, and have not been capable to entry my e-mail in any respect - it simply freezes. Would love to understand what is going on, and could be well if Yahoo have been extra open and handy.

It happens usually in XP, when you don't have a Shared Folder (which is shared - to check, open Properties, Sharing).

I hope, if you share the folders properly, you don't need any password

You just put the administrator user and it's password
also the user previledge
