Scanners come with their own software. You start the scanner by either starting the software or pressing a button on the scanner. You then have to set the area of the page you want to scan, the resolution, and the file type. You then scan and a picture of the page is saved on your computer.

If you mean a Scanner, Read The Friendly Manual (RTFM). Then, after installing the software, open it and click on the Help TAB to learn how to use it.

TIP: Scanners take pictures, etc. of whatever is put on the glass.
