My laptop's been in use for 3 years and i feel like it's time to do a bit of precautionary work in case the hdd dies on me. :)

Can i get an extra 2.5' HDD that is the same capacity as my existing one in the laptop, put that in an enclosure, connect to my laptop as an external USB drive, and run IDE RAID with the internal hard drive and the one connected by USB?

In case the internal hdd dies, i can easily put the ext. one in and boot my system without any problems right?

So, I'm making a website using a very basic image map
(AREA SHAPE=POLY COORDS="369,98,440,64,401,52,367,69" HREF="etcetc")
And I was wondering if it were possible to have an image appear on mouse over of specific coords =/

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I've tried Joost 3 times, most recently 2 weeks ago. My experience has been disappointing every time. Limited content aside, the video has been intermittent and overly compressed, with macroblocks showing up all over the place.

My PC isn't the latest, but it has an AMD Sempron 2500+,
1 GB of memory, an nVidia 6100 video card, and is hooked up to AT&T DSL Pro, which regularly gets 2.5 mbits/sec downloads. Does it need more power than this?

They take forever to download, and I know it's because they're a bigger file than songs are, but songs take a max. download time of 1 1/2 minutes. Why can't movies download in less time than their total duration? Songs can, so even if it takes an hour it would be done downloading in a shorter time than the actual movie, while right now it takes like 3 hours to download a movie that is under 2 hours long. It's a pain if you're going on a road trip and want to watch a new movie, but you don't have a lot of time to spare before leaving. Does anyone know why it takes so long or how to make it go faster?

Everytime I try to defrag my hard drive, it doesnt get any further than being %12 defragmented. I have tried this with both the Windows XP program and with a freeware program. I know my system is in dire need of a defrag but it gets to the %12 point, stops and sits there and the system heats up. (im questioning if perhaps the heating up of my system is indicating another issue. Its been happening a lot lately but the weather here has been in the 100's, so...?)
Any suggestions...?

I want to reformat my Toshiba A4 and it says that it needs an active partition to do so. My friend told me that the NFTS file system doesnt have to have an active partition, but when you reformat, you need one cuz its running MS Dos. He also said that i need to get to the FDISK.EXE to set the active partition, but he doesnt know how to get to that menu.

Where do i go to get to that menu?

I have an Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset family with 128mb, the main driver as ialmrnt5.dll, version 6.14.0010.4332
WHQL Logo'd: Yes, Mini VDD as ialmnt5.sys, and DDI version is 9. I just want to know how and where I get get maybe a driver download for this graphics card to have vertex shader or some other way. I know I can get it. I saw people with this graphics card having at least vertex shader 2.0. Or is it just a big lie? I just hope it isn't. PLZ HELP!
