i read on some websites that using p2p can have other users
get access to your pc or get hacked , is this just bullshit because they all say allow ur firewall to give full access to gnutella and to just
just scan the files u download with anti virus or malware.

From my experience with p2p's, this is definately NOT BULLS**T. I was using Kazaa to search for new bands, I chose not to share squat, and through the downloading of several files, that I ended up with several dozen viruses and trojan horses. It finally caused me to completely wipe the hard drive, re-install windows, all the drivers, all the programs, all the personal files... Remember, that malware/antivirus software can only detect/block/remove those programs that are known, the web is full of unknowns. In my opinion, p2p's are very bad news. Pony up the money, buy legit, or be prepared for the unintended consequences. By the way, most people do not know that the item they are sharing with you is infected.

well if u dl a rootkit, yes in theory ppl can gain access 2 ur computer. p2p sharing sites are not safe at all. buy what ever ur stealing and u wont have these problems
