Have you ever tried blowing the venting areas out? Aside from that it's not the best idea to put a lappie on your lap. That's not why they call it a laptop. Laptops are more for convenience but will overheat just like a desktop if it is unable to ventilate properly. Your body heat is an added heat source causing overheating and shut down problems, not to mention the hardware damage it can cause. my suggestion is buy a can of compressed air and blow it out and don't use your lap. The fans keeping it cool blow out the bottom of the lappie.

It wouldn't necessarily be an "over" heat, but it will get very hot and can burn your legs. Use a stand that allows air ventilation.

Yes, very frequently. Your cloths may be blocking the heat from escaping.
