My friend swears up and down it is.
I say it's not, since everyone is required to cite their sources for information, and any wrong info is disputed almost immediately it seems.
What do you think?

I have been using VB5 for years. Moved to VB6, but help is separate in the "MSDN" library.
Where or how can I get it?

Everytime I log off my PC, it resets everything, so nothing gets stored or saved. Everything deletes, even internet pages I have been on etc. When I start my computer these are the messages that appear:
1.Windows cannot load the locally stored profile. Possible causes of this error include insufficient security rights or a corrupt local profile. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator.
DETAIL - An I/O operation initiated by the registry failed unrecoverably. The registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's image of the registry.
2.Windows cannot find local profile and is logging on a temporary one.

I had my computer re-formatted a couple of months ago because my son deleted an important part of the system by accident. Has it got anything to do with this. Is there anything I can do? Hope someone can help. Thanks

I currently have a Dell laptop (running Windows) that is about 4 years old, and want to replace it with one of the new Linux/Ubuntu Dells.
How hard is it to learn this new software? I'm computer savvy, but not at the programming level (I'm capable of doing HTML, and am generally better/geekier than the average person at computers but don't want to go in over my head with this...)
Thanks!

My wife's Acer laptop blew its mainboard a year & a month from new. We had a new mainboard fitted & this one blew after 51 weeks, but the repair was only guaranteed 3 months so we decided it wasn't worth bothering this time. The previous repairers have offered to buy it. How much is it worth & is there any risk of our banking details being picked up from it if scavenged?

I live out in the country. I have a tower set up to recieve a wireless signal from the city. I have a wireless router set up so that all the comps in the house can get on the net. My g-paw lives next door and the tech guys set up a dish reciever to get the signal from the router. Gpaw wants his house to have wireless too instead of plugging into the wire from the dish set up on his house. Do I use a router for that or what?

There is a wire coming from the dish reciever connected to his house that is plugged intoa little box, and from that box he can directly connect to the dish. Basically I want to connect that wire to a router so that there is a strong wireless signal in his house too.

Can it be done? How?

Thanks everyoen for spending time with this...
