I was on my laptop as usual and suddenly the charger started to make noises and then when i looked down at it steam started to come out from it, so i instantly switched it off and nothing happened, but i don't want to risk usuing the laptop again incase it catches fire! Before this though it had difficulty in switching on and wouldn't always connect properly with the laptop, it also wasn't charging the laptop it was only making it run without charging. what do i do now?

HI. Situation. I have a Wap54g Ver 3 hooked up to a workgroup switch and the switch to the 327w. Now in order for the acess point to work it has to be connected to a swtich right? well whenever i run setup it wont detect the acess point. My wiring is correct. Also I have forgoten the password to my modem. and verizon isint helping me getting it back help please?

i have a wireless router and a CPU and the internet is working fine on that. i bought a new CPU and the internet explorer isn't working on that. any ideas on how to fix that problem.

A small retail company ordered a server for hosting an accounting and sales application system the company has only 5 terminals which can access this application and their sales are not that much.
They bought this server through an agent to import the server on their behalf for the cost of $4000 its now 4 months the server has not been delivered so the question is
1. Is buying a server a good decision ..as you can still get a powerful normal pc to be your server.
2. Is $4000 reasonable for a server.

I'm a web design student, but my web design skills aren't advanced enough to do the web design all by myself.

i formatted a 150GB SATA harddisk, i even delete the partition and create a new partition again and install new OS on it.

now i wan to recover the data. i use GetDatBack for NTFS. it takes me 5hrs to scan for all sectors! now i'm hanged at select files to recover this step.

is there any FREE software that can recover data faster?

When I got home from work, the display in my monitor is now too wide. The vertical part of the screen is doing fine except that it really is too wide. I tried adjusting using the PROPERTIES and changed the SETTING but it won't budge and then restoring the system of the computer by going to Accessories and clicking on SYSTEM RESTORE and selected a few days ago but still no luck. I also tried the MENU option in the monitor where you can adjust the brightness and the contrast of the monitor. I've already tried adjusting the breadth and width of the display. Im having a headache now, can anyone please help me?

I don't know how this happened but my sister was the one who used the computer last night. She must have played a game or something which made the monitor display too wide. *I have read somewhere that when you play CERTAIN games, it will automatically adjust the display on your monitor.* Maybe something like this happened. Im not blaming anyone.

What I mean is, the only only picture I can find is on MySpace where someone blacked out a couple of faces with either MS Paint or Photoshop. Is there anyway to remove that without leaving a massive hole there? I mean, I know the face is still there, isn't there a way to kind of bypass the black spot that will reveal their faces?

I feel like an idiot having to ask since I'm a computer admin..but I've never really dealt with wireless cards.

I have a tower with a wireless card in it, also a brand new laptop with wireless capabilities.

Put simply I'm clueless as how to network them togehter.

Do I need a router or can the simply connect directly as I can do with Cat-5?

Kindergarten language not needed...but...if necessary I'll deal with it.

All i can tell you about it is that its a flat screen, Its about one year old, Its an acer and its gone really fuzzy, purple and really unclear.
Im quite sure its out of warranty and i cant afford to buy a new one. So has anyone had this same problem or know of anyways to fix it? I have tried turning it off and leaving it.
Please help its hard writing this now.
