I am developing an application which has to contact a system through internet. I have tested the application in my office LAN. but actually aimed to make it work in internet.

I don't know how to test my application in internet environment.

My application has to connect the database system which has already installed in 192.168.2.8(Its my office's LAN IP).

My office have internet connection with static ip and also a router for our LAN.

In LAN we have 10 systems IP ranging from 192.168.2.1 to 192.168.2.10.

How to configure my LAN so that my application(which runs in a computer which is out side of my office) will be able to connect to the database which has installed in one of my office system?

Can anyone give idea about it?

I used swicth to switch through UTP Cat5e cable but it seems can only took up to 100meters, It there any good idea that can help me to solve my problem. Thanks a lot in advance.

Is there a way to just use your regular internet connection and then buy a wireless router to network my other computers in my home so that they can also connect. I just don't want to have to fork out an arm and a leg for wifi service cause I have like 4 computers (lol....3 kids) I would like to be able to access the internet with.

Hi, I'm trying to create a dropdown selector for a web page in HTML that I'd like to

1) Prompt the user for what it's looking for
2) NOT have the prompt be part of the options list.

Typically, this is accomplished using code like this:


What vehicle do you drive
Chevrolet
Ford
Lexus


If this code is used, it produces a dropdown box that prompts the user for "Which vehicle do you drive?" and the user can select. My issue with this method is that the user can select "Which vehicle do you drive?" as an option.

Is there any way to prompt the user for their input in a dropdown (select) box WITHOUT the prompt being part of the options?

I have a 6 month old Dell Inspirion 1505 / 6400 and I did not order a graphics card with it because there was no Vista then. Now I know that to run Vista Aero one needs a graphics card. Dell tells me they have no way they can fit my laptop with a Graphics card now since the mother board does not have a slot. After playing a computer game for a couple hours my screen will go black for a couple seconds then there will be a message on my screen saying that my graphics card had some error. then in asks me if i would like to send a error report to someone. after clicking send i open my game again. this happens again about 5 minutes later. after its done this a few times my computers screen goes black and i am unable to restart or shutdown my computer. i have to turn my computer off at the wall which i know is very bad for it. whats wrong with my computer? how do i find out what the error my graphics card is having?

I am sadly limited to PCI. No Express, no AGP

I currently have a Radeon 9250 128Mb, but I am wondering if there is anything better I can get? I'm kind of a noob when it comes to video cards. Does a 256Mb card automatically make it faster/better than a 128Mb?

I read somewhere, something about PCI slots having different capabilities. Like some have 32 bit connectors, some have 64 bit capabilities... It's all so overwhelming.

I have a Sony PCV-RS210. I know on the web it says that there is an AGP slot but there IS NOT, many people have complained about this as I have read.

In any event is there a better PCI video card than the Radeon 9250 128Mb that I can buy? The more detail the beter, THANKS!!!

I have port forwarded Ares and the first time i did it, i managed to get pretty good DL speed...about 20kb to 30 for downloading songs and up to 100kbps for a movie that is about an hour and a half long.

However, the 3rd day, my dl speed just didnt stay that way...it went to the same as before.

I tried to port forward to other ports but its not working!

What is wrong? Can someone pls help! will appreciate it a lot!

I have an Nvidia FX5500 at 250mhz core clock and 133mhz memory, i recently bought this card from my friend and he had it overclocked to somewhere in the 300s. I was wondering what a good overclocking tool would be (besides ntune, it wont install) and what are some good overclockign frequencies for this card.

P.S. running Windows XP SP2
