Is there a way to just use your regular internet connection and then buy a wireless router to network my other computers in my home so that they can also connect. I just don't want to have to fork out an arm and a leg for wifi service cause I have like 4 computers (lol....3 kids) I would like to be able to access the internet with.

In most cases you are much better off with your own wireless router. If you have broadband just hook it up and connect. All are the connected!

Yes

The Internet Service Provider provides connection to the internet and terminates with a standard RJ45 connection (Ethernet style).

From the ISP termination you can connect a wired router or a wireless router.

All pcs connect either with wired connections to the LAN side or with wireless connections to the LAN side of the router.

The Router's WAN port connects to the ISP termination.

With wireless be certain to follow the wireless router's manual in regards to security or you will have freeloaders using your service. They can also read all network shared drives of all connected pcs on the LAN - which is a big risk.
For these reasons implement all security steps for wireless.

Yes the ISP Gives you the cable modem with one Ip address. Just buy a wireless router like linksys wireless G. This takes the One ip address from the modem and shares it with all your pcs no problem. Only downside is that they outsource tech support to India and Phillipines So Read the Manual
