It's been going very slow, I can't keep more than 2 programs open at a time and If I have just FireFox open it's still kinda slow. Could it be Viruses or Spy ware? How can I fix it?

im posting this rather vague question about my friends dell desktop simply because its not mine and i dont know much about it. my friend has a dell desktop that she says "it overheats and wont turn on for days at a time" i dont know she thinks its a fan problem but i dont think that would paralize it for days, but any help would be apreciated. anything such as if you have a problem like this with a solution. if you havnt noticed my id is macguy11935 meaning i dont know anything about pc's. thanks --seth

can anyone tell me the difference between a blank DVD disk and a blank CD disk, I already know that a blank DVD disk can hold several times the amount of information that a blank CD can, but why is this - if you put them side by side they both look the same to me, so what makes the DVD disk different and allows it to hold so much more data than a CD

Dear Yahoo! Answers-I was going to go to the beach today as it is a holiday-instead I spent 3 hours & 20 minutes on the phone to Microsoft tech support to try to clean up all the junk on my machine and stop the sluggishness and stop constantly going to "page does not display" then several hours of sytem cleaning. I was exhausted and didn't get to beach. This is in addition to the hours I spent with tech support yesterday (Sunday). This also does not include all of the data I have lost when I hit save, enter, etc. & it goes to "page does not..." & then my data is gone. This was my holiday weekend. This also doesn't count all the other times I've spent on tech support for hours at a time & all the $$ spent on protection, etc...Is there a good reason why I should NOT get a MAC next time? Please advise.

I am overdue to renew Panda AV for 2007, but it has slowed down my bootup and processing time using Win XP Pro on a P4-1600 with 765 Mb of RAM. The Processes tab in my Task Manager shows 5 different processes running simultaneously taking up processing time and memory cycles.

My summer vacation just started. I wanted to do a project over the summer rather than just sitting around doing nothing. So I decided to create/build my 1st pc. I own a dell unit and tried upgrading it and its a pain! So i decided to build my own desktop for experience and upgrade in the future wont be as painful!

Does anybody know any broswers like firefox that you can download that wont give you viruses. I want to log onto a forum with 4 usernames, i open one with firefox. one with internet explorer. any other broswing services that you know of because if you open up anothere window and log into the forum it logs you out in the other one. Well I recently downloaded a game about 1 GB. I had no problems for the 3-4 days or so. But i doubt that this was the problem to my situation. It so happens that my computer is really slow. ( takes a while to load windows..internet explorers, documents etc. I would say 5+ minutes )
So i decided to Run Spybot, Adware, and Super Anti-Spyware
I managed to get like
8 Critical fo;es on spybot
101 Critical objects on adware
and around 40 for super antispyware.

I cleared and removed them | some werent removable so I quarantined them. But then there was this massive Lag. Spybot needed a reboot to remove certain files that were affecting my computer.
So I shut my system down when the others were done and turned it back on.
It takes 10+ minutes to access the user page in the start of the computer

and when i do load.. it takes another 5 minutes . On top of that, If i click or right click or whatever to an icon or menu, It crashes.
My start menu bar dissapeared and I dont know...

I am trying to use the FindFirst method in the standard module,referring to two open forms. Can I do that, and how do I reference the controls?

This is what I have:

The Microsoft Jet database does not recognize 'CompanyID' as a valid field name or expression.
