okay, i have been working on my network for at least 2 hours by now. I am using 2 winXP computers and 1 win98 computer. The 1 win98 computer i use as a server, and for printing. I finally got that computer to work on my network with 1 of my winXP computers. Now my 1 winXP computer is located in our living room, the other is located in my room along with the server computer. the computer in my living room is connected to my winXP computer in my room, and the server computer is also connected to my winXP computer in my room. Now, the network card that is connected to the server computer works fine, but the living rm computer which is all connected says that a network cable is unplugged when they are all plugged in. it says that on both computers. What should i do? I got all LAN ethernet lines (no wireless) someone know anything about this? and how can i fix it? the network bridge and everything works fine except the connection from my living rm computer....i been trying for long time..

So I bought an ATI Video Card for my DELL desktop. I open the thing up and come to find out that the port is backwards from what I need it to be? Is this a propriatery thing? The gold slots were also slightly different. The card fit in the slot when I took the face plate off and put the card in backwards, but the connection was slightly different. Is there anyway to get by it? The ATI is an 128 pro All In Wonder AGP. Is there a cable and box that can turn it into an external video card with the cord connecting from the card directly into the AGP?

I've been getting a lot of spam lately in my inbox. I have Gmail, so it goes directly to my spam folder, but it's still annoying to have to go through 15 emails a day and unsubscribe to all of their offers.

I was wondering if there was a website out there that will take your name off of every spammer's list, so I can enjoy my personal emails instead of dreading checking my email everyday??

i have a computer thats connected to the internet via wireless...the computer with the modem and router works fine on the internet...but the one on the wireless side, i cant access the internet anymore....when i load up, this message pops up saying "The TCP/IP *thing* is not installed" ugh i dont know what that is.....i tried to repair it, but it said it could not renew the IP adress....then i tried to make a new connection and it needed the WEP key, and i cant find it on my other comp....my router is a Linksys WRT54G...plz help! 10 pts to the answer that solves my problem as a prize...thanks -peace

a friend of mine has this old pc he bought from a guy in the pub it has no name or anything (think he makes them up himself) when you turn it on it says "American
Megatrends" it worked well for years but something has happend to it recently, when my niece turned it on it did not start and message came up on screen saying that "\system32\hal.dll" is corupt or missing please re-install a copy of the file. After typing this into my own browser it says something about reinstall windows 98 or millenium edition, but the thing is i know for a fact that it was running xp pro. where do i get this file and how do i re-install it once i have it ?

I had a dell laptop, yesterday I bought an Acer Desktop that has Windows Vista. My internet is now disconnecting randomly and when I try and download torrents or off limewire, it keeps getting failed connections, at least for larger files, like 700mb or something like that, its gettting really annoying...i like the new computer, but i dont want to reset my internet conencttion all the time, and I want to be able to download things like on my old computer! Please help! My icable internet provider just told me "that's strange."----a lot of help

I'm having problems here..

I had an emachines computer. It broke and I took it to a place and they installed a new motherboard, so now the original eMachines Windows 98 Reinstall CD woln't work because it thinks the computer isn't an emachines.

I bought an upgrade windows 2000 pro cd a long time ago, and installed it on this computer. The hard drive crashed last night, so I bought a new one. I put in my upgrade CD, but I guess it's not bootable.
I have no other windows cds. What do I do?
Is there any way to install 2000 using the upgrade cd?
