That is a total subjective questions. Everyone has there favorites and most the people on here have probably only used one brand anyways. I have used Netgears, Linksys, Microsoft and D-Links and prefer the d-links for eas of setup and reliability, but of the two you have mentioned I like the linksys better.

Most routers are good and fine.
The newer Linksys were changed from the previous type.
If you can get a Linksys wrt54gl
( l if for linux)
and apply the third party firmware update such as sveasoft.
To tell you the truth the current Linksys WRT54G or gs ( any past version 4) are just plain poor products .
Even though Linksys has the brand name I would get the Netgear.
It is a bit of overkill but the summary was in order to reduce costs for profit the marketing department at Linsys killed the product. Its not the same. Even with the firmware updtates it is not a good product.

I have a Linksys Wireless G and I would NOT buy another one. I get disconnected everytime I play a particular game even on the WIRED side of the hub.
The wireless was VERY flakey until I installed the latest BIOS.
But I have no experience with a NetGear wireless router. I loved my wired Netgrear, but that was a diffrent animal altogether.

Any one of those will work with your iTouch and your internet. However, RangePlus will not. Your wireless card needs to support RangePlus in order to fully make use of the extra feature (Same with Speed Boost) The WRT54G is a hit or miss router. The older versions (WRT54G v6 or before) were incredibly popular since you could install custom firmware on to them very easily. v7 and v8 accept only a "light" version. If you want full customization, go for the WRT54GL, otherwise, go with the cheapest. They'll work the same.
