Hi Pal,
Well, could be that the protocol TCP is not installed on your computer, if is that so, you got install it, follows this ease options (they work with windows XP):
-Open the Networks connections, to open: click Start>All Programs>Accesories>Communications>Networks Connections.
-After that, locate your wirless divice (commonly its name is "Wireless Network connection")
-Then right click over your device (Wireless Network connection) and choose "Properties".
-In the General tab, under the box "This connection uses the following items:", locate a protocol called "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", if is not, then you must install it.
-To install the protocol, click on "Install" button
-In the "Install network component type" choose "protocol" then click "add" button.
-Then locate the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)", and click "Ok" button.
-After that, verify that the protocol appears in "This connection uses the following items:" box, then click "Ok", try restart your Computer, and it must work (if the problem is the protocol TCP is not installed).
If you still experimenting problems, could be a problem how's set the configuration for your wireless adapter, or which Client program are using to get connected with you wireless connection, and, I give you this answer assuming your router has DHCP (a service that automatically assign an IP) and the DNS and Gateway are set OK.

go into your network card in the control panel
control panel > control panel > network connections > right click on the wireless adapter > uninstall the tcip
ignore warning
reboot and windows should reinstall tc/ip
TCIP is a networking protocol to allow computers to communicate that is most commonly used on the net
Change the channel on your wireless from the default 6 to anything else
1and 11 are the first choices
