I had a dell laptop, yesterday I bought an Acer Desktop that has Windows Vista. My internet is now disconnecting randomly and when I try and download torrents or off limewire, it keeps getting failed connections, at least for larger files, like 700mb or something like that, its gettting really annoying...i like the new computer, but i dont want to reset my internet conencttion all the time, and I want to be able to download things like on my old computer! Please help! My icable internet provider just told me "that's strange."----a lot of help

i am not using a router, my internet is from the cable modem box

if you are using a router for both laptop and desktop,then you will need to forward the port that the p2p is using.And also set your p2p as a trusted program in your firewall...good luck

Check the Acer web site to see if there are any patches or updates for that problem. Make sure you have downloaded the updates for Vista. Check with Microsoft to see if there are Vista patches for your particular Acer.

And that's why I am waiting 4 the 1st patch B4 I try Vista.

Sound like a modem driver problem.
