JAVA Q? CAn anyone please explain wht pointer concept SUN or othrs implement in obj ref?

I'd prior knwledge of java n wonder wht concept these ppl use instead of pointer..cozz every1 knws thrs some pointer like concept tht is object ref. wht sun n others really has..pls share wid me if you have any idea abt it? or if u've anyURL u r my guest then......Thanx

They are really equivalent in a theoretical sense, but C language sorta let you abuse pointers as in doing pointer/mem addr arithmetic with them, C++ avoid the daunting stuff by introducing references that have arithmetic capability removed, Java starts off as a replacement to those languages in marketing paper, the name of exception in Java even have the word Pointer in it.
