Dear Yahoo! Answers-I was going to go to the beach today as it is a holiday-instead I spent 3 hours & 20 minutes on the phone to Microsoft tech support to try to clean up all the junk on my machine and stop the sluggishness and stop constantly going to "page does not display" then several hours of sytem cleaning. I was exhausted and didn't get to beach. This is in addition to the hours I spent with tech support yesterday (Sunday). This also does not include all of the data I have lost when I hit save, enter, etc. & it goes to "page does not..." & then my data is gone. This was my holiday weekend. This also doesn't count all the other times I've spent on tech support for hours at a time & all the $$ spent on protection, etc...Is there a good reason why I should NOT get a MAC next time? Please advise.

Apple makes great computers and great software, they are definitely on top of the technological curve these days and are NOT the company they were 15 years ago. Everyone recognizes the success of the ipod, and now it's appleTV, the iphone, the itunes store, and finally the computers/software. For the first time in years, they're not seen as computers for geeks and artsy-fartsy types.

the only reason why you shouldn't get an apple computer is if you don't want to pay the slight extra cost. but unless you're REALLY good with computers, you pay in one way or another. so how much do you value your time? do you want to spend it fixing and tweaking a computer to make it work, or actually use it to do what you want?

good luck

dont get a mac. for all of the ones men and women who say macs cant get viruses, your mistaken. macs can correctly get viruses, however they're tremendously exceptional. why is that this? mac viruses are tougher to make in comparison to laptop viruses. even though they're exceptional, while men and women conclude them and get it proper they're tremendously lethal in your macs and might waste your whole $1100 or some thing you payed to get it as to laptop, all you have got to do is reformat it. generally, despite the fact that, macs cant make it. laptop also are bigger considering that in the event you wish to get a application that handiest works for home windows, you cant continuously get it for macs.computers are simply simpler with that considering that they are able to run nearly each application (apart from linux's hacking systems). you by and large wont ought to fear approximately a mac virus whenever quickly, however on the other hand, you certainly not recognize...

You should get a mac. While the power user PC person will complain, it does handle simple tasks in a much easier-to-understand way.

Plus with a Mac nowadays, you can install windows as dual boot system. With a mac you really can't loose.

I have both a MAC and two PCs and I like my PCs MUCH more.
I think what you really need is someone to help you and teach you how to use a PC properly so you don't have as many problems anymore, that's what I did with my sister and she's doing much better at computer things.

I you have an IT guy/girl among your friends or family, don't hesitate to ask them to spare an evening and help you with the computer things. Get someone patient though, computer issues can be quite frustrating.

Destructive maintenance (reinstall Windows) periodically, apparently it is still needed to do all these years since, and keep yourself and your own documents roaming not tie down to a single installation.

Getting a Mac won't save you all the grieves, in fact it creates different problems.
