I am running 4 sticks of 512mb Crucial Ballisix with timings @ 2-2-2-6. They are compatable with my motherboard or so MSI says. I've ran memtest86 and only had errors in dual channel with all 4 slots full. I think I might have 1 bad stick but not totally sure.

And they are matched pairs in the respective slots 1-3 and 2-4.

Maybe? you have two differnt sizes of RAM in your PC.which can cause problems of equality or maybe they are not the same types of memory this will do it too,its allways best to have memory of the same size and type.esspecially nowdays.with older pc's using PC100 and PC133 ram its didnt seem to matter ,but now its critiacal in many modern boards.it can prevent the reading of data correctly

You have the Ram sticks in the wrong slots. Make sure they are both in the dual channel sockets. Check in motherboard instructions for more info

My first guess would be that the memory is not compatible for duel channel application. It must be the same size, clock speed, and in most cases it should have the same case latency.
