I have a machine with JUST DOS on - no copy of any other operating system. I have some large files (>1 floppy each) which I have zipped across floppies to transfer. How do I unzip them from my DOS machine?

Hi,
If you have used something like winzip to zip the files, you will have to use the program to unzip them. Most of the zip programs now are all windows, mac or Linux based. the only one I can think of is PKZIP. I am not sure if this is still available.
Hope this is of some help.

Typically multi-floppy zipped files will have their own 'un zipper' built in.

Put in the first floppy.

a:\DIR [to find the file name (I'll assume 'zipped.exe') ]
a:\zipped.exe

The .exe will launch and ask you to insert the floppies in sequence (usually it's asks for the last one first, then goes back to the start ..)
