I took my compuer to a shop, and asked them to upgrade my compuer with more RAM and a Graphics card. They told me they couldn't because the slots to insert a Card or RAM were gone. They said the people who made it too them away to save money.

So I can't upgrade it. Well me and my friend opened it up ourselfs and found the slots. But why did he say they were gone? Could they disconect them? Is there anyway to upgrade it? By the way, my computer is a HP Pavillion Xp home edtion. I think they said it was made only for homework and internet, not for games.

I live in a hostel and want to make it wifi enabled. We are round about 20 guys living there. We have option of 256kbps ADSL connection. So i want to know that how many laptops can a single wireless modem/router can handle? Do i have to connect more than one modem? Also how many laptops can a wireless modem support?

I have a dell latitude cpi laptop, I was trying to connect it up to the internet & it just powered off! Charger seems to be working fine, but there is no power whatsoever on the laptop! Any idea's what I can do? I would be most greatfull for any solutions. Thanks in avance.

This new tv doesnt play any dvd that has been burnt, only the bought ones. Is there some software or anything I can do to make this tv play the burnt dvds. I have many home movies of my family etc I want to be able to watch.

I have a website already in working order, but I am having a hard time finding a shopping cart that is HTML friendly with all the options I need and one that doesn't cost me every month. I need to be able to establish shipping on a total weight basis, and also it needs to support PayPal. It must be able to support many items as most free ones only allow 50 items, not nearly enough. I'm looking for something very simple as I am a beginner, but I also do not want to spend a ton. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

i live in the ar*e of nowhere and as a result do not recieve broadband the only thing that fone companys will sell to me is ISDN, now i got the box from Eircomm but have hit a snag getting hold of a modem, I was told wen i asked for one in maplins "We dont sell them anymore theyre obselete"
i have tried the external usb modems and they cause nothing but trouble, the pc they are attached to frequently crashes especially wen somone picks up the housefone (the box is dual line and this happens even wen the pc is using one line), and the drivers are correct and up to date
Its annoying how they can sell the box but not the card

I ordered one from Watford Electronics (savastore.com) and it never arrived, i have chased it up but got sick of being lied to.

does anyone know of anywhere else that i can get a working card?

Anywho, Whitepages and most othe online services advertize as being free but seem to use a middle man like intellus that requires a fee to get the actual details. They tell you for free that the info exists but then you have to pay for the answer. What about a free phone look-up service similar to Zaba Search's free people locator? Does anyone know of one.

I'm (still) updating our website, and the calendar we have in place is made from solid HTML. I want a solution that has exactly the same style, can show activities that we are hosting, and takes up a few lines of code (hopefully runnung from an external script / file).

Any solutions would be welcome. No PHP / ASP / CGI codes, please. I need to make sure that it works offline as well as online (force of habit).

I am getting a cable router to enable wireless Internet on my computer upstairs, but, I need to check whether I can connect my computer downstairs to the router via a wire, as it does not have wireless capability.
