You need to purchase a co.uk domain name from a registrar. If you are looking for hosting, I suggest http://www.totalchoicehosting.com
Do not go for a host just because the price is cheap, you will end up with cheap service usually. And believe me, you do not want a crappy host.
Totalchoicehosting is excellant. They have a large staff so any support problems are handled quickly and professionally. The prices are great and you get a nice amount of space/bandwidth for those prices. I've been using them for over a year now and have never had any downtime issues or complaints. They have always answered my questions quickly.

There are lots of places you can go on-line and get free web space. However, you will most likely have to include some version of their web address into yours. For example, you could go to bravenet.com and get free web space, but your address would probably have to be yourwebaddress.bravenet.com.
If you want to pay for a domain name and host, the cheapest I've seen is Yahoo hosting. You can probably find it on the Yahoo homepage or through any search engine.

If no-one has already registered it, you can get a .co.uk domain name for about £5 a year from a company like 123-reg.co.uk
You don't need to pay for hosting or server space to hold the website as you can redirect surfers who arrive at your domain name to pages hosted on free webspace, whilst still keeping your domain in the address bar.
Hope this helps.

I use Compila, to register emmacherry.co.uk and get two years basic hosting will cost £28.20, or if you're prepared to pay a bit more you get different levels of hosting packages.
A UK based domain is free there if you buy hosting, however, if you don't want them to host your site on their servers you can just register your domain - £7.61 for two years on a .co.uk - and redirect to a free server such as Geocities.

Have a look at mrsite.com - supposed to be very easy and good.
You can also have your own paypal shopping basket
Costs about 34.95 for first year and then renewable monthly.
You might be able to find it cheaper on ebay.

to get your very own url, you actually need to pay like a monthly fee. I think it's only around $8-10 using yahoo geocities.
if you purchase it..it's the same as making a site under geocities..but you can make your own url without www.geocities.com/name

you need to register domain emmacherry.co.uk which will cost you around £12.00 per year and get server space for minimum £100 per year (good ones). Both needs to be renewed or recontracted.
