Specs: I'm a female, 5'6", 150 lbs, pretty strong for a chick, soon to be motorcyclist. My husband just bought me my "learner" bike, a Kawasaki Eliminator 125, so far I'm doing pretty well. I plan on learning on that bike for about a year (I also plan to take the MSF beginner course), and in a year's time I hope to buy a "big girl" bike. I'm looking at a Yamaha FZ6. ( http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/modelspecs/273/0/specs.aspx ) Kind of in the middle of sport and cruiser, not to big (600cc, 410lbs), and good looking. Do you believe this bike would be a good first purchase? Is there another you recommend? But to let you know I am partial to Yamaha. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

it's a 1991 honda nighthawk 750 aircooled and it had some kind of buildup on it so i carefully used a dremel on it to get it off but it took off the fatory coat off the block so i'm not shure what to do I dont want it to rust on me.

I'm thinking about buying a used Honda Shadow. I've never had a motorcycle before, and I'm just looking for something to cruise around town on, I will not be doing any long distance driving. Mainly just short trips on the highway.

What is your opinion of the Honda Shadow? Is it a good starter bike?

I let the bike site for a month, and now when I start it gas pours out the air cleaner side of the carb. Is a rebuild in order, or is there an easier fix?

I have a 95 600cc Ninja that cranks, but will not fire. I don't think it's the coil. What else could it be, and how much is it going to cost to fix?

How much is it worth? How much would it cost to service it? Are these easy to have refurbished? I need to know everything about it as I have wanted one of these for quite some time. I know nothing of these and I have not yet got my license - this would be my first vechicle if I bought it.

I have an 1984 Honda Rebel 250cc that I am using as my starter bike. I rode it all this past season with minor problems i.e. bike not starting, cutting off with choke fully released. But I have since figured out how to get it going, I have to let it warm up for 5 minutes before riding with the choke on and then release it slowly as my ride progresses, but the problem I am having now is with it backfiring. I have it stored in a garage (not heated) and have been starting it every week to make sure the battery does not die (I do not have a battery tender attached), and letting it run for 15 minutes, right when I turn it off it makes a really loud back firing noise. Today I added fuel stablizer, and want to know if this will fix the problem or is there something else I can do. I plan on having a tune up completed before the next season starts, but thats not for months, in the mean time any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I just recently got a used bike thats been sitting for some time, and I believe that the chain may be the problem-
When I try to back it up or push it forward (in neutral) it does not move easily and takes two people to move it. I think the chain may be the problem, as it is severly rusted, so I cleaned it up a bit, but it still has the same problem. What else could be the problem?

From any gear with the brake on, or not! I cant get it into reverse! Ive tried the adjustment by the reverse switch itself. I can see the reverse lever moving when I turn the switch, but it wont go in! Anyone have ideas?

Okay, weird-ish question but it's bugging me to no end. A while back we were looking at ATVs, in an ATV and Bike shop. I saw this...thing, it was a bike/motorcycle/ wtf-ever with a very car-like design to the front of it, possibly more than just the front but I 'm not totally sure.
And I'm not talking about a bike with a bulky/complex front that is kinda car-like. Partial mini clone of a sports car describes it better...anyway, if anyone can understand a word I just said and might have some idea what I'm talking about, please fill me in? Because I've only seen something like that at the one place and I have no real clue what it is.

Well, I took my first ride on a 2003 Honda Shadow Ace Delux 750 (HOT!! lol) a couple of weeks ago and now I want a bike...a good one! Thing is, I'm afraid of drving one and laying it down all the time. How hard is it to learn? How many times did you lay it down when you drove yours for the first time? What's a good kind to get, with it not being those tiny "rice burners" but a solid, loud one? Thanks!! :-)
