for a start this is actually a cycle with a cyclemaster back wheel, the engines are a pain in the @rse to work on and if you are not experienced extreemly difficult.
I restored one of these 30 years ago and said "never again".
You can still get some parts but they are very expensive.
There is a modern french verson of these things still made and you would be far better getting one of them.

They were not a nice thing when they were new. The pedals are there to assist climeing hills!
Say £150.00 to refurbish the cycle parts (wheels rebuilt with tyre @£50 each, paint job, new brakes, bell.) £100 say to fettle the engine, is the fuel tank rotten? Do you have the skill to put it together And the thing is only worth about £200 0n the road.
There is no mention about documentation in the advert, does it have a log book? It will need one to use it on the road.
If you have to ask us, you are not up to the job.
Walk away from it.

For best advice; go to www.vmcc.net , find a section nearest to you, go along to a meet and ask someone.
If you're genuinely interested (as opposed to just wanting a cheap bike) you'll find help, encouragement and (as a VMCC member) an active and enthusiastic Cyclemotor section.
As it stands it's probably worth a third of the BIN price as it's not registered.
Not for the inexperienced rider though, given today's traffic!

If you have many years experience in restoring old bikes, with many contacts for spares (new or remade), then it's a good project.
If you are new to the whole idea, then it WILL be a disaster. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it clearly says in the ad, "Ambitious winter project". The seller is not kidding!

My advice would be forget it,unless it is totally complete and in top class condition.This is a collecters item,and needs expertise time and money.You need a 49 cc twist and go scooter,or byke to start on,pass your test ,then look around for your next toy.A get to work byke that is dependable is far better vallue to start.I FOUND THE CYCLEMASTER BACK WHEELS USUALLY NEEDED DOUBLE BUTTED SPOKES TO BEEF THEM UP.

I'd be wary of the phrases "ambitious winter project", and, "there are no documents".
You are talking about a 55 year old bicycle engine. The seller is not even sure of the displacement (engine size).
I'd keep looking.

If you just want something cheap and interesting don't touch it. It will not be cheap to either to restore nor to keep it going. If you just want to look at it, buy it, take it home and polish it and stick it up on the mantlepiece. If you want to ride buy something else!

You're never gonna get spares for that. Therefore, you're gonna need some engineering knowledge. If you have some, buy it and restore it. Its a fantastic project.
