this 1 will do the job fine. alot better choice than suicidal squids trying to tame a r-6 when they dont have any road time in.

The M50 is a good bike water cooled and fuel injection , very reliable, adequate power at a good price . I personally like the looks . I had the C50 Suzuki which was totally reliable . I have the Suzuki S83 now a 1400 cc bike looks a little like a Dyna . Quite a bit quicker , I don`t recommend it for a first bike.

I own a 2005 M50 and I HATE it!
Complains:
#1 Its uncomfortable, it has a lean forward riding position and you back and but will hurt after a long ride, plus with the air cleaner stick out on the right side, you can only rest your foot on half of the foot peg.
#2 Its underpowered, It has good acceleration up to 50mph, but after that it takes forever to get up to 70mph, plus the bike is unstable and wobbles at high speeds
#3 Its too heavy and too top heavy, this bike is hard to handle the tight, twisty curves, the bike is not centered, its heavier on the right side.
additional complaints: the chrome on the headlight blinds you. the LED tail light is too dim in the sunshine, nobody can see it, the engine backfires, it gets terrible gas mileage, the starter switch sticks, it "CLUNKS" every-time you shift it, the rear plastic tail light, plate bracket cracks and falls off, the cheap plastic side engine covers scratch up easy and look terrible.
IT IS "NOT " a fast bike, the Yamaha 650 and Honda 750 can out-perform it, the rev limiter will only allow it to go 105mph

It depends. If you're sized more like Michael J. Fox than Clint Eastwood, or had trouble in the MSF class (or similar riding lessons), it might be a bit too heavy to be easy to ride. But if you did well in riding lessons and the bike feels light enough to you that you could pick it up if it fell over, go for it.

For a good first bike I would go for a Harley Davidson Sportster 883. Good for just starting out....
