Do I have to replace my car's synthetic Oil every 3 month if I haven't reached mileage? For example, I plan to be out of the country for 2 month...by the time I'm back my car will be due for oil change according to the date..but it'll be 2000 miles before the mileage requirement.

Its a Chevy S-10,4.3L V-6,W Series,it has 199,832 miles; 1)Last week i started it up,threw it in reverse and it died, would not start again! 2)I may have damaged the starter or starter solenoid while cranking it over as the battery was loosing its charge(it was a clunk sound)? I charged the battery and now it barely cranks over but it will turn over! Im assuming there are two seperate issues and once i get it cranking over again i will still have the original problem of it not starting...I recently replaced the spider injector and think it might have something to do with the original problem! Any suggestions???

The van is a 2000 Olds Silhouette, and after turning them on for a bit and then off, they sometimes stay up and I can't figure out how to make them go down. I don't find anything in the owners manual on it. And they aren't on intermittant when this happens. Thanks for any help.

Also, you can slightly smell what seems to be a burning rubber smell in the smoke that comes out. All of this only happens when I start the car, after that it runs fine. Any ideas?

1.I rebuilt my rochester 4b carb and everything is fine except the little coil where the rod goes to. There is to much slack in it and the vent on my carb wont open and close correctly, any suggestions on how to adjust this
2. When I go to start my car sometime,it wont do nothing, not even try to turn over, i figured it is my ignition switch, any instructions on how to change, it is on the dash not stering colom.
3. The clock doesnt work, what things do i need to check.

Thanks for the help,if you need me to explain any further, just let me know, i have never used this before so i might not be 100% clear.

My 2000 VW Jetta feels like its not even trying to shift into higher gear. If it was a manual tranny I would say it felt like I was trying to get to 80 MPH in 4th gear instead of 5th. Also this happens and a few days later it goes away then comes back. Could there be a short in the wiring somewhere?

truck will idle high for approx 1 minute. Then will sputter and act like it is going to die. When driving you can feel and watch the rmps bounce up and down. What could be the cause of this. It is fuel injected 5.8 xlt. Has been in the shop and no ones seems to know what it is. I have tuned it up, sent the computer out to be checked and replaced what I thought was the I.A.C. deperate and need help. This weekend I am just going to start tearing it apart piece by piece to see I can figure something out.

I have a 93 lexus es300. Its burning oil pretty bad, smoke billowing up through the hood, and noticeable when stopped at a stoplight. Its not smoking out the exhaust. Ive had this problem for about 6 months, though it just started getting gradually worse, with noticable oil burning smoke. I brought it into a shop, and they told me the problem was the oil pan gasket. They replaced the gasket, but it didnt fix anything. When I look at the engine, there is very light oil leakage from the top of the engine(oil cap) all the way to the bottom. The majority of oil leakage is coming from right side of the engine(looks like from the cam seal) and also from the middle of the manifold. I assume the leakage is probably a combination of problems: valve cover gasket, cam/crankshaft seals, possibly valve seals? I know for sure its not a head gasket problem, and I'm betting that its not something major, but I'm not sure. Anyone else have any ideas on what it could possibly be? What should I replace? Thanks.

Thanks in advance for any help on this - the best answer with a detailed explanation and solution will get 10 big ones!

I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer SUV and it has been having some sort of ignition/wiring-type problem for some time now. I just got the truck out of the shop for transmission work, this is all I need right now... for the last month or so at least, when I go to start the truck, it may start normally or it may start sluggishly, not quite sputtering, but certainly dragging into the ignition with a slight struggle.

The cherry to this lovely pie was this morning, when I finished putting some gas in the empty tank and went to start the car. It fired up fine but the meters (ALL of them - speed, gas, temp, etc) were suddenly all stuck at zero. The orange hands are still dead at zero and the electrical display underneath (for mileage) is black/"off". I made it home just fine, but with no meters - like driving an "off" car! Please help! What is wrong and how much to fix?
