The very best rust solvent is Blaster. It's available in any auto parts store, Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart (automotive section). Soak the bolts and screws once a day for three days tap them straight is with a small ball pein hammer and they should come loose. If not Sears sells a kit consisting of five bolt and nut removal sockets. They have reverse flutes inside which tighten as you turn the bolts and nuts counter clockwise to loosen them. This kit works slick as heck.

If they will not come out with penetrating oil and you cannot access them to drill them out there is one possible solution but it is a bit dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. If they are in steel or cast iron and there are no plastic, rubber or painted parts nearby and they are not near any electrical or fuel lines, you may be able to back them out by heating the metal they are screwed into with a torch. Because different metals expand at different rates, it is sometimes possible to get the metal to expand the hole a little before the metal of the bolt or screw does.

Be advised, applying heat to sheet metal will warp and damage it. But applying heat to the frame, engine block, heads or manifolds can usually be done safely.

Happy New Year!

I know sears craftsman and also snapon tools make special tools that make this a lot easier to do. Also, check the local auto parts stores for a haynes book on you vehicle. there is an engine cover on the inside of the cabin under the dash, and it is designed to give easier access. just make sure you get it back on right before driving. the one on my dodge b-300 came loose and flew up while driving. Very exciting ;-) . most every thing in that engine compartment should be reachable from the inside under the dash, from under the hood, or from underneath the van. best of luck
