I put a new 350 in my camaro about 6 months ago and lately I've been having to put about a qt in every week. my car has been running hot also, it gets up to 210 while in traffic, and after I turn the car off it gets really hot because the fan only turns on when the car is on and doesnt turn off till the car is off. Could my car burn more oil from running this hot? Oh, and I usually never drive my car more than about 15-30 min. at a time cause every where I go is real close but I got several places to go everyday. Could this short distance driving contribute to oil burning? Because that means much of the time im driving my pistons havent swelled to their full size, right? any advice?

Do you have to have all the same brand tires on your car or can you mix it up 2 and 2? We can't find our tires any where and we need to replace two of them. Anyone know?

In my honda accord whenever i turn on the lights the backlight to my radio dims and my dashboard also dims. It seems to me that during the day they should be dim, and when i turn on the lights for night the backlights should come on so I can actually read my radio.

I had some trouble with my car 3 weeks ago and the light came on. The reading said P0755 solonoid circuit/ faulty shift solonoid. I have a powertrain warranty but had to pay 100 bucks for the deductible. Today my light came back on and the car is acting weird again. I took it to autozone and the diagnostic reading again was a P0755. I called the car dealership and they said I would have to pay a deductible again. I am pissed. They said it is something different. How could it be if the reading is the same? Shouldn't they have to guarantee their work?

My car overheated the other day and I checked the radiator coolant, which was empty. I refilled it but it overheated on me today. Does it need engine coolant as well? And if so would that be the same as radiator coolant? Or any other ideas what might be going on? (I am on cool climates and do not drive far between work and home)

What is a good way to clear out brake dust from a vehicle. I have a 2006 Mustang. It is not the brake pads I have had them checked twice. Lots of black grime on the wheels.

The car has a history of having electrical problems. The car doors not do not properly lock or unlock upon initiation (some doors need to be unlocked by hand). Sometimes the car is able to turn over after about 7 tries with the ignition.

Took it for vehicle inspection a couple days ago and it passed.

Took it to the dealership yesterday when it stalled on me and the dealer said it was my fault ("you got to push hard and put it in 'Park'") when it automatically worked for him. I put the vehicle in park and I push the key into the ignition hard and the same thing STILL KEEPS HAPPENING!

What could it be?

my coolant reservoir was empty ,and I thought i was hearing knowcking from the engine ,so I took the car to firestone and , told them the synptoms , they suggested a perssure check , dun know what that means , so after the diagnosis was done , they came up with the following results ,
1) the sytem pressure was 20 Psi
2) no leaks found
3) temp guage below half
4) oil dipstick has dark brown color
5) no white smoke on the engine start
6) heard no knocks in the engine.
7) they found moisture on the oil cap
the firestone people did not know how to deal with this ?
so they toped off the coolant in the reservoir and the radiator
but told me to keep an eye on the level in the reservoir. now what I am afraid is if there is a leak internally ,its going to damage the engine ,so i dont know what to do ?
how can a coolant resevoir be empty if they found no leaks
my car is at 137 k and ran fine until i thought i heard knocking sound , but i guess it isnt knocking but stallin

Hello.

My ac starts up but 3 seconds later stops. Then, 3 seconds after its stopped, a click under the hood can be heard, and the ac kicks in again, only to shut off in 3 seconds. Repeat.

I looked under the hood and found the source of the click. Please reference the image below. I took a couple of pictures.

There is this disk that when the ac starts, will begin to spin. Its the rusty color disk pointed out in the image. The air is cool when it spins. But went it stops with a click, the air stops its coolness.

Someone mentioned that i might be my thermostat. Does that sound right? What is this part? Solutions? Thank you!

I was adding something to my engine oil to stop a small leak that I have. It had one of those little foil safety covers over the spout and while pouring it in, about 1/2 to 3/4 of the foil part fell into the oil. Will this pose a problem.
The car is a 2000 Mercury Cougar, not that it really matters.

so i park my car at the curb when i get home. my neighbor's motorcycle was behind my car. i backed out and i accidentally didnt see it and nudged it down. so i went outside and the owner's mom helped me pick it back up. there was no major damage to the motorcycle just aesthetic stuff. the worse damage i did was to its headlights. it completely shattered and broke off. i told his mom that i was willing to pay for the damage and that i was sorry. so i was wondering how much the tail light will cost me? oh yea its a pretty nice honda... if that helps any.

I have been having a problem as far as controlling my car's steering. The steering feels really loose and like I don't have the control I once had, especially on roads that don't have a perfectly flat surface. It used to be nice and tight. I doubt it's the alignment because it doesn't pull to either side. Any suggestions on a diagnosis?

A little background:
My car is a 2005 Scion TC with approximately 40k miles on it and no extensive reapirs have ever been done to it aside from general maintenance. It needs new front and back brake pads and new fron ttires, both of which I am getting this weekend.

I have 6+/- sensors that are not receiving the correct voltage. Per specs, with the ignition on most sensors are supposed to receive 9-14 Volts while some are supposed to receive 3-5 Volts. However, the sensors I am reffering to are all receiving millivolts (less than .1 Volt). Some of the sensors include:

-EGR VSV
-ISCV
-TPS
-MAP
-Terminals T1 and T2 of the check connector

All other sensors outside of these few are receiving the correct voltage. Also, the computer (ECM) is brand new. If you have experienced this before, please advise where to begin. I have been to the Toyota dealership twice to no avail as well as two individual mechanics. Any help or starting place that you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
