an exhaust, cold air intake, and a programmer, total of about 1k, is a great start for power, performance and even fuel efficiency. If you want to go with something else, superchargers work ownders as well, but cost a little more. If you start with the small stuff first and work your way up, you will be happy, but make sure you check with your local laws before doing some mods, likeexhaust, because some will not allow it. Also helps are free flowing cats and headers, good luck!

Always start with the safety features:
1. Brake inspection and bleed brake system. Condition of lugs and lug nuts and wheels.
2. Are the tires in good shape and is the tread depth adequate? "Legal" tread depth is the bare minimum and isn't a good measure for all driving conditions.
3, Suspension. Shocks, ball joints, springs, control arms and check the frame for dings and bends.
4. Check the gas tank for big dents and gouges or rusty mounting brackets, straps, bolts.
5. Has the tranny and powersteering been serviced?
After all the scheduled services and wear a tear are done and out of the way then you can spend some money on the extras the other fellows mentioned.
Good Luck!
