i am really broke, but i need a car to get around so i can job hunt and so i will have a way to get there, once i get hired. who can i turn to for a free car? once i get a job, i will be able to pay for the insurance. i need a free car that is automatic transmission, and runs good and has been smogged.

You are going to have to find a way to get to work, and save your money to buy a car. No one is going to give you one free. Why would you even think that way?
The helping hand you are looking for is at the end of your own arm. Get up, get out, and get to work to earn what you want, need, and desire. Do not expect others to provide for you!

Stand in front of a fancy restaurant, put on a red coat and hold out a Valet Parking sign. You will be amazed how many people will just walk up and give you cars. They might even tip you before handing over the keys!

you would have to borrow it from a friend, steal it, or win a swwepstakes, you cant get a free car any other way.

try craigs list, i traded my crappy toyota for a equally crappy van, but it holds all my kids. i see posts on there all the time from people asking for free cars, you never know!
