Fiancee tried to fix my car...he put a new distributor cap on and everything was fine....then he went to change the fuel filter, however in a 93 toyota tercel, the fuel filter was located behind the engine. In the process of trying to change out the old filter, one of the wires to the fuel filter cracked and fuel leaked out everywhere...he was totally upset with himself. I tried to be calm and told him everything was okay he was trying to do something good and just messed up......he said "it's not ok!!" So now we have to look for another vehicle ( i need one i have 2 children) and we hardly have any money between the two of us b/c he has been out of work and i have been working to support us all. This morning he was driving me to work and he didnt even give me a kiss good-bye and normally he does (he's way over-affectionate) so i was shocked by this, like i did something wrong..when i asked why, he jus kissed me on the cheek...whats up with all this....any thought y he's actn this way?

My brake lights (2000 Oldsmobile Siluhette minivan) are acting weird, when its only the brakes, only the taillights, or only the turn signal they work fine. but any combination of those 3 options and all the lights come on sort of dim and do wierd stuff, for example the arrows for the turn signals in the dash come on when you hit the brakes with the taillights on.

Anyway I was told it is probably a bad ground wire. How do I go about fixing this? Do I have to re-wire the taillight assembly or is there some other simple fix I can try?

my girlfriends 01 Camaro, the headlights are very dull, and very hazy. I have Meguiars Plastic Polish, Fine and Medium Cut Meguiars Buffing compound, 2 Mother's Powerball polishing wheels, and various other things. I do a lot with cars, so I've got plenty of experience, and the tools to do it with, but I just want to make sure I do it right. I've tried just the plastic polish, and it didn't clear up the heavy haze, but I've heard any buffing compound with even light abrasives will make them worse. I've taken very fine scratches out of platics before, but never this haze before, so a little help would be great! Thanks a lot!

If you wanted to have a really nice car fixed like a race car would you let someone who has a lot of experience but not a name or shop work on your car even if they built a car and can show you their work skills and ability?

So torque controls acceleration from a standstill and low rpms right? Horsepower controls top speed and acceleration at high rpms? Is this correct? So when you downshift it is supposed to go to the horsepower peak to get maximum acceleration? Is this correct?

I have a '98 Dodge Neon (Yeah, I know, piece of crap, but give me a break, it is my first car) It doesn't run yet. I am having someone work on it now.

It has been sitting for probably a little over a year and a half. Im sure it has many other problems besides the gas but obviously it has old gas. I have heard that a car will not run or start on old gas. I also heard that the car would start but just run crapy. Im not sure, either way I am going to drain the gas, luckly the car has an electric fuel pump, but I just wanted to know if this is something that can be causeing the car not to start.

What is the recommended oil to use in 98 Pontiac Grand AM GT with 143,000 miles. Would changing to a synthetic blend cause a leak?

Is there any adjustment on the wipers on my 2002 Civic? They slap the bottom of the windshield one minute. Then the left one is slapping the left side of the windshield. In rare moments they go from inside the bottom of the glass to the side frame, but this doesn't usually last very long. They are the most erratic thing I have ever seen on any car. Admittedly this is the weakest link on the entire car. It is great-gets 34 mpg going to work. Thankfully this is only annoying when it rains.

I just got home from vacation. My car has been sitting for 16 days to be exact and I left very LOW gas in it before I left (I thought this would help in case someone tried to steal it while I was gone..). And now my car won't start up. Could this be due to having no gas?? It was working just fine before I left.

A light on the dash of my Space wagon has started flashing - it is intermittent and doesn't seem related to any movements with the car. I have checked the oil, brake fluid and topped up the steering fluid, does anyone have any ideas what else this could be. The light is orange and has never come on in 6 years of owning the car. Not having a manual I can't work it out. Please can any one help.

When I am driving my truck, if I turn the lights on, when I turn the ignition to turn the truck back off, the engine stays on. If I turn the lights back on, the engine turns off and then I can play with the lights to completely turn the truck off so nothing is running. What in the **** is going on?

Hi, further to my last question, I need to know the coil connections for the HT leads to the straight line electronic coil. Thanks to those who replied with answers before but I worded the question poorly. The car has electronic ignition and the HT leads are connected in a straight line not a circle. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
