Fiancee tried to fix my car...he put a new distributor cap on and everything was fine....then he went to change the fuel filter, however in a 93 toyota tercel, the fuel filter was located behind the engine. In the process of trying to change out the old filter, one of the wires to the fuel filter cracked and fuel leaked out everywhere...he was totally upset with himself. I tried to be calm and told him everything was okay he was trying to do something good and just messed up......he said "it's not ok!!" So now we have to look for another vehicle ( i need one i have 2 children) and we hardly have any money between the two of us b/c he has been out of work and i have been working to support us all. This morning he was driving me to work and he didnt even give me a kiss good-bye and normally he does (he's way over-affectionate) so i was shocked by this, like i did something wrong..when i asked why, he jus kissed me on the cheek...whats up with all this....any thought y he's actn this way?

Sure, he is embarrassed because he messed up your car. Now he thinks he looks like a fool in your eyes. that was a big blow to his ego. He is mad at himself, not you. Once the car gets fixed right, then things will blow over. Just don't keep mentioning anything about the car once it is fixed. It will be best, if it is forgotten.

If you are low on money, then don't get another car, just get this one fixed. It will be a lot cheaper. good luck.

they are all correct he is embarrassed - he messed up.

No big deal, it is an easy fix less than 25.00 for the parts.

Tell him to cut off the bad section - get a replacement piece flare the ends and get it back together

Not a big deal, the lines are rusted and they will bend when your trying to loosen them. Common for anyone.

Make sure the cut is clean and the flaring tool is also cheap if he doesn't have one. Same thing for brake lines too.

Your boy friend is ashamed to have disabled your car and feels guilty that he doesn't have the cash to fix it right.

In my opinion this is not someting that you need to replace the car for.
Slow down and try loosening the engine bolts and jacking up the car to allow you room for the motor to drop down and give you room to work on the area behind the engine. Take your time and don't rush. And don't be afraid to ask a mechanic for advice.

initially you're actually not relatives yet. the place is your fiancee now. How do you already know which you're actually not getting a destroy for the paintings it relatively is complete. you're. Mechanics are high priced. and maximum autos are bought as is. If he have been to restoration autos for no longer something - He'd be the busiest guy on the city. Who will pay his charges, insurance etc.

Even though you said everything is fine, he believes you are as upset at him as he is. He wants you to feel safe and know he can do it, so when he messed up he felt he let you down. He Will probably be fine when all is fixed and back to normal.
