Ok, so heres the thing, I just got this car from my cousin and the air does not work. He said that one day the air was on heat and he wanted to change it over to cool, he flipped the switch real hard and it kind of sounded like it might of cracked or something. Well now it only blows out hot air won't blow out even cold air and so the air conditioner does not work.
Could someone tell me what could possibly be wrong and if I might be able to fix it on my own? Or atleast have my husband fix it.

By the way it is a 1991 Hinda accord I believe an EX. Not quite sure on that but I could get back to you if you need to know.

i have heard that people put water over their engines. is this true and safe? as in warm in winter to preheat it and cold in summer to cool it down or if overheating.
i thought it would be really dangerous with all the wires and connectors inside there, i mean the battery cant be safe to get wet can it? any info on what actually happens if i headr wrong would be great.

Basically, my taillights are not working. It's not the fuse or the bulbs, so I don't think this is something I can fix myself. I live near St. Louis, MO. As my parents have recently taken their car to an electrician who just messed it up worse, any advice on finding someone who knows what their doing (and who won't charge too much) would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm interested in a car that's got them. They're so cool looking, but I don't want to get it if they are more trouble than regular tires.

I'm looking at used cars. I"m interested in one that's a Volvo that's 1999 S60 w/ 80,000 miles and there's also one I like (an S40) that's 2002 w/ 80,000 miles. Will they be in the same condition since they have the same mileage on it or different since one's 3 years newer? The reason I ask is b/c I really like the one that's an 02, but not sure if I can afford the payment (it costs more than the 99).

When I start my mower it has to be choked obviously but then I had to keep it a little choked so it wouldn't stall out. Now I have to run it at full choke or it will stall out. Seems to be getting worse, is there a way I can increase the throttle or is there something else i can do so i don't have to choke it so badly? I also just filled it up with regular unleaded (which I always use)and now it's running weird. Is there to much gas or is there a problem with the fuel pump or what is it. Any help would be greatly appreciated and please answer in detail cause i'm not the best engine guy. Thanks for you help ahead or time.

I have always been confused with different types of car wax products, cleaner wax, carnauba wax, sealer wax, polishing wax, liquid wax, paste wax. I just want a smooth and lasting shine. Any recommandations?

I hit a curb (2002 mini cooper) while trying to take a corner too fast. Must have been going around 20-30 mph. Now my right front tire is diplaced towards the rear - at least it looks that way from the fact that it is almost 2 inches closer to the rear than the left wheel. I didn't even notice it for awhile, because the car still drove straight. Now it's been pulling to the left. And of course the front tires are worn. Does this sound like major suspension damage? I will take it in to a mechanic, but I want to have a feel for what might be going on before I hear it from him.

The car starts up and idles farly uneasy, and when givien gas the carb kinda spits and at one point I saw flames shoot out. The car also runs like this crap.

Is this a mixture or timing issue or what? I just put in a new fuel pump, switched over from manual to electric but put a regulaor on.

Hello:

I have a 1999 Mazda 626 LX 160Kmile, Automatic Transmission.
The engine started fine, heard one slight "click" sound when I shift from parking to driving, the car is not moving!!! I could switch into any gear easily (perhaps too easy as hand feels usually), but the car is not moving in any direction.

I check the tans fluid level it is fine, could it be shift linkage or transmission problem?

Thanks in advanced !

I bought my car last year from a local dealership. When i purchased my car it was at around 35,000 miles. When I took my car in for an oil change the people informed me that my car was due for services at 30,000 miles and asked if i would like them to go ahead and perform said services. I assumed that the services had already been done as i had just bought the car. Recently i took the car back to the dealership due to a service light being on, and their mechanic tried to sell me the 30,000 mile services. My car is currently at 45,000 miles and other then the electrical problem i just had fixed it runs well. Should i get the transmission flushed, i have read where sometimes it causes larger problems, and i have also read from certain places that they are not required and are just to pad the pockets of the mechanics. I have also read about how they are vital in maintining the life of a vehicle.

I tried to put 3 gallons of gas into my car and it started pouring out (out of where you put it in at). I don't go by gas guage (already knew that was messed up) so I go by mileage. According to the milage I was empty. I typically get 25-30 miles per gallon. I went 125 miles after the pouring out incident and broke down. Then put 3 gallons in again and only went 35 miles before breaking down again. I just put on a new fuel filter 3 weeks ago. The gas has only poured out that once, and hasn't since. What would be making the gas come out, let alone now I'm only going 20 miles to 3 gallons of gas? If something was put in my tank, what should I be looking for? I know I need a new fuel pump, but when it was looked at (the same time the new fuel filter was put on) it should have lasted a lot longer than just a few weeks.

I may be halucinating, but, my mother's Buick does not seem to be going the speed on the speedometer. Seems the car is going slower. I told her, it may use electronics and not the old cable as was common in days gone by. I been searching the Internet for pictures and parts. Will call Dealer Monday, they closed now. Thought someone on here may be familiar with this.

My (leather) steering wheel is becoming very worn out and each time I drive I get black stuff on my hands. I have tried leather cleaner and protector, but it is not working. If I need a certain kind please recommend it here. Please if you have any advice to help get rid of it, it would be very much appreciated. Thank You!

I just bought a new Dodge Dakota, and to save a little money I got it with a manual transmission. I have taught myself to drive it pretty good. My question is this. I was told that I should not use the gas while my foot is on the cluch, except when starting out, because it will damage the cluch, but if I just let out on the cluch with out giving it gas the truck will jerk. Not the rock back and forth kind of jerk, but enough to make you move forward and backward in your seat alittle. It also make a clink noise when I do it that way. I was told that is normal, but I have found that if I slowly let out on the cluch while giving it gas the transtion is much smoother, but if I am damaging the cluch I don't want to do that. Which way is the correct way, or am I wrong on both fronts?

I was driving my 98' Ford Windstar van and it just died as if I had turned it off. It still got power but the engine stopped. When it died it didn't make any noise what-so-ever and I was still able to control it enough to coast through the light and pull it off the road. I checked all of the fluids and they were full. I replaced the battery with a brand new one that was actually a bit stronger than the one I previously had. anyways. I finally got a chance to take it to a mechanic and they said the engine is locek up and it'll cost almost 1,700 with labor. All of my friends said this doesn't sound right especially since the van has less than 100,000 miles on it and the only previous owner was a buisiness. Not to mentiong the fluids were full and it didn't make any noise. When I turn the key now, nothing happens. Any advice?
