It seems like it shouldn't cost that much and I think it would be good to have some foresight with the situation in the middle east and oil and all that stuff.

I just bought a used 2001 Durango. Under the hood on the fusebox there is a sticker that says "ATTENTION, REMOTE STARTER" and tells to disable it before under-hood work. I have also found a part under the dash that seems to be part of a remote starter kit. Unfortunately neither has any writing on them identifying a brand or anything else. The car did not come with a remote for this starter. Where would the main unit be located so I can find a brand name?

alright i thought i drained the car oil, and it turns out i had drained the transmission oil unknowlingly, i added 6qts of oil and drove a little before i noticed that a ton of smoke behind my car. when i check the oil meter i was like 3times over the maximum amount, and i had no to little transmission fluid in my car, since i finally after driving it home realzied that i had not draiend the right thing.

my question is: what type of damages am i looking at?

i am getting obd2 errors telling me that different cylinders are miss firing now, and its flashing (the Engine service light).
is there a chance that if i let it run it will burn the rest of the oil that is still where it should not be?

thanks i really need the help

My dad and I have done about every kind of test and electrical theory to find the reason behind the unsually dim lights. The bulbs are brand new and connections are great. The blue "brights" light on the dash is always faintly lit when the low beams are on and the brights seem to fade in as they are turned on....and of course are dim! It should be said that the low beams seem normal though. They are getting the required 12 Volts too.

cannot get that 1 1/2" nut off, guess its to plan B and get a strap wrench and wrench down the hub, to keep it from slipping, but my question would be : which way does the nut come of if i am looking from the front of the vehicle towards the engine?
that thing is just frozen on there big time, thought it would be an easy fix but we have struggled with it all day long.

any ideas to help?

thanks in advance...

I have recharged it a couple of times and it will stay cold for a couple of days and then stop working. The compressor will work for the next couple of days and then stop and no cold air comes out at all. What can be the problem? The freon I used to recharge it has a stop leak in it...what do you think?

I have a 1990 Mitsubishi Galant that I bought from the original owner this past January.

Since then the owner has moved out of the country and I don't see any record of any timing belt replacement. The car shop made it seem pretty dire that I get a new one put in right away, but that it would cost 400$. The car has 82,000 miles on it. Do I really need to sink that much cash into getting a new belt, or is it just a scam?

i own a 1993 trans am and lately when i get to a stop the car feels like it trembles a little. it does not turn off. then when i accelerate theirs no problem. every time the car trembles a bit the oil gauge needle goes up and down. i am guessing it can be that the oil is kind of dirty. what can the problem be and is it a cheap repair?

I have taken my jeep to the dealer for the same thing for the past 4 months. Coolant light keeps coming on and everytime I take it in they suck money out of my pocket and its still is not fixed. They replaced the level sensor, thermostat, I demanded a compression test on it and they said its fine but replaced the radiator cap. This weekend I found no antifreeze in the overflow and it took a 1/4 gallon to bring the level back up to where its supposed to be properly. I am pissed and I'm not sure how to do this correctly. Obviously something is wrong with my jeep cause it is not leaking on the ground. Why won't they fix it. Is it cause its got 2,000 more miles and it will be out of warranty. This is a dodge dealer not some fly by night shop. I want them to reimburse me for past dues and fix my jeep before the head cracks if its not already. Help me, give me some tips

I just got done draining my radiator fluid and filling it back up with new coolant. While bleeding the air out of the radiator lines should the engine be on or off and is heat suppose to be on or off. I'm confused because I loosened the bleeder with the car running and the heat off and air bubbles and fluid kept coming out for a good 5 minutes. I kept waiting for a steady stream of fluid to come out but air continued to bubble out. I've lost a small cup full of coolant from the bleeder valve. What should I do?

I have a '95 Honda Civic VX, D15Z1 VTEC-E engine, 174,000 miles. It runs roughly, acceleration and mileage are poor. A timing light shows that when I snap open the throttle, the timing briefly *retards* about 10-15 degrees, then returns to initial (16 deg BTC) as RPM stabilizes.

Testing on another Honda (same year, diff. model) showed the expected advance. Mine retards.

The timing also does not advance as RPM increases gradually. I see slight variation, 1-2 deg, as I slowly increase RPM, but it always stays around the initial setting. Behavior is same in neutral or top gear (front wheels off ground).

MAP and throttle position sensors test 100% normal. TDC, crank angle, and CYP sensors (in distributor) pass resistance tests. Distributor is original but ignitor and coil have been replaced recently. A different ECU did not solve the problem. This engine does not have a knock sensor.

What could cause "backwards timing" that I haven't checked?

Thanks for the help!

I was wondering like in my picture if the Connector that goes on the EGR postion Sensor that goes to the Egr has like a flow to both hole's.. i think it does.. The tube That went to the egr valve broke off and the red one that goes somewhere else im not sure where is fine but i hooked it up and left the egr valve tube off and just ran a different tube from the sensor to the egr vavle.. i was wondering if there is a flow on the connector that could need it to be hooked up.. if you don't understand take a look at my picture (it's not that good by the way) PLEASE HELP!!!
