Unfortunately you have the same problem many people have A/C dries the air water dripping on the ground. You just have to use the auto climate control and set it to auto and let it do it's stuff. 77 will feel like 60 because the temp inside the truck not the cooler temp comming out the vents. Trying directing the air away and up that moves the hot air around and find the in car temp sensor and make sure it not full of dust. When the a/c is too cold it will feeze over and no air will come out.
Down here in Texas we need all the cooling the a/c can provide. 100 degrees and high humidity and stop and go traffic.

Don't you have a temp adjusting mechanism inside the car, like a dial or a digital thermostatic device control by the fan switches you can turn down a little? I mean, try 80 degrees maybe?

It also helps if you can aim the vents away from your body, maybe putting it on defrost helps also.

Other than that you might have to take it in for this, first I don't know what make and model but on mine there is an adjusting screw on the dryer / receiver canister with which I can adjust the coldness, thou I sure wish too cold was my problem lol.

Good luck.

It is truly amazing what people come up with in this forum. They only know about air conditioning in cars with digital thermostats. Well, folks all cars don't have thermostats on the air conditioning. In order for it to be comfortable in the desert, they are designed to get very cold. If it gets too cold for you, turn up the heat a little until it gets comfortable.
Too much or too little refrigerant in the system will cause the system to not work at all, and if the evaporator freezes over, no air will pass and the air conditioner will not work either..

Does the a/c control have a max a/c setting? If it does, it's possible that the hot water flow is being shut off, thus allowing no blend of heated and cooled air. My '02 Ranger was like that, and it would do the same thing you describe. Just set it to normal a/c. This allows the hot water valve to open, and also uses outside air instead of pre-cooled interior air. Some automatic temp controls have those options, not sure about your's......

just try doing this, cut the temperature control down a little bit on it to the point that its mixing the air, that's a problem most people would like to have ,is it being too cold, you have a good system if its cooling that good,i wouldn't try changing anything about ,just use the temp control to regulate it,and keep the fan at a lower speed ,i have a truck that's the same way ,and I'm not going to complain about it,in a month or two we,ll all be wishing ours worked as good as yours does, good luck with it.

Yeah like today here in Chicago? And I'm like one block away from the lake? And that wind gets in between those tall building and the hawk swoops down on you without notice and tries to kill you? Yeah, I undertand that cold but at least we're missing the snow part and for that, I am grateful.

If its digital like that, seems like the climent control is going bad, if you cant turn it up to like 80 degrees to fix the delima, change out the tempature sensor for the climent control.

In my younger days, we just rolled the windows down and drove around, this was our air conditioning. We had far fewer problems with it than you seem to snibbling about.

If it is icing up, then there are a couple of common causes for that: 1, that the system is low on coolant. 2, that the system isn't cycling due to the ice-up sensor being unhooked or defective. (I can't remember the proper name for it)
