i own a 1993 trans am and lately when i get to a stop the car feels like it trembles a little. it does not turn off. then when i accelerate theirs no problem. every time the car trembles a bit the oil gauge needle goes up and down. i am guessing it can be that the oil is kind of dirty. what can the problem be and is it a cheap repair?

See if applying the brake keeps it from trying to stall. If so, it could be a transmission Torque Converter Control (TCC) solenoid hanging up and tending to stall the engine. Of course there's lots of other reasons for an engine that idles rough and tends to stall, but your GM transmission had TCC problems, so keep that in mind as you diagnose your problem. I would also clean the throttle plate and bore as well as the Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid that controls the engine's idle RPM.

I think that it is trying to stall. I would change the plugs, and wires. Maybe even some new filter, etc. Basically, give it a tune up. Some fluctuation is common in the oil pressure on most vehicles, especially when it is trying to stall.
