My battery is fully charged tested). The alternator works (car battery stays fully changed), the starter works (car starts if I jump start it). My car will start with a jump start, but won't turnover without one. The battery terminals are secured tightly.

Does anyone have any ideas of why this is the happening? The voltmeter and my battery changer both say the battery is at full strenght.

Anyone who can answer this question is truly a car guru.

I have a 2000 Dodge stratus, and I noticed that when Iam idle at a stop light or a stop sign, I feel a strong vibration on the steering wheel, and I can see the passenger side outside mirror vibrating too. I don't feel it when the car is in park but in drive at idle it does it. What could this vibration be??

I have a 98' Grand Am GT 3.1L V6 with 88k miles. As of this afternoon, the engine turns over but will not start. The engine is getting gas but no spark at any of the three coils. I don't think all three coils would go bad at the same time so I suspect the Ignition Control Module or a Camshaft Position Sensor may be bad.

Is there anyway I can test the ICM or CPS with a meter? (Called Autozone and they can't test it. The Chilton book has no information about testing the ICM or CPS, only details how to take out and replace).

The car had a full maintainence (new plugs, new wires, fluids changed, new filters all around) less than 1000 miles ago and was running great up until it wouldn't start this afternoon.

My original off-the-shelf shock/spring configuration was 12kg in the front and 14/kg in the rear. I recently revalved my rear shocks so that I can use 20kg springs. I've been told the revalve also provides stiff "autocross" valving. Do I _need_ to revalve the fronts to provide the same stiff valving or is it suffcient to leave it alone?

I have completed many projects before such as installing a new bathroom, electrical projects, etc. so I am pretty handy with tools and can follow instructions well. I have never actually worked extensively on vehicle however, so I am just curious what are the most important things to look for and what might need replacing that would make the project not worthwhile.

I have a 98 4 cyliner automatic Toyota Camry. When I'm coming to a red light, and when i'm braking, the car begins to shake, and the shake doesn't stop even when the car is stopped. However
if i switch the transmission from drive to neutral, the car stops shaking. If I switch back to Drive or reverse, it car starts to shake again. What could be wrong?

I've been after buying a used car for a while and found the perfect one in the autotrader. It is an 02 reg civic and absolutely immaculate on the outside and the interior, i fell in love with it. However, on closer inspection on opening the bonnet i found that there was a lot of rust on the nuts/bolts/pipes and various other places. The guy selling it is a trade dealer and bought it from RRG Toyota to sell on, he seemed really genuine. The car has only had 1 owner and has full Honda service history. The mileage is quite high for a 5 year old car, 83,000 but it was a company car so i'm assuming it is mostly motorway miles. The only thing that is stopping me from buying it is the rust in the engine, is it a bad sign or not really that significant? problem. Being a typical girl i dont know much about cars so i would like the opinion of someone who does please!

Mechanic says tires are "cupping." Sorry if this is a stupid question. Never had a car with so many miles on it before.

We bought a 2002 Taurus froma dealer. The miles are about 41K..which is good. BUT, the thing sqeals when running. My husband said the belt looks good, like new, but may need tightning or a pulley is bad. Well, the dealer "fixed" it..hah...sound came back. Took it back, now they say could be either in the transmission or motor..any car experts here?? Is this worth fixing??

It's a 1985 Toyota van. I turned the wheel while parked with the engine off. Now it squeals like a car taking a corner too fast every time I make a sharp turn. Adding fluid doesn't help. What did I break and can I fix it?

I saw an add in a car mag. advertising this item called the "Turbonator". You put in in the hose that leads to the engine and it suppossedly allows for better air flow increasing hp up to 30... Is this bull$hit or not?

On all vehicles using a cartridge style oil filter, are the installation torque requirements for the cap itself printed or stamped on the cap? I'm talking about the cap that goes on the filter housing.

I own a 2006 Dodge Magnum that I drive only on the weekend. Question is how often should I change the oil. Every 3000 miles or every 3 months? Every month I drive it between 200-300 miles. At this rate it'll take me around 10 months to reach 3000 miles. Is it okay to change the oil every 10 months? If I change it every 3 months that's only about 1000 miles.
