my husband recently had a car stereo/speakers/amp hooked up by a non professional . He cut some wires by the dash board and hooked the stereo through the cigarette lighter and now all of a sudden the car is not getting enough gas to run or stay started. does anyone know of a wiring diagram or if any of these wires have to do with the fuel pump? any ideas???? please help!!

double check the wires,,,it may be just a loose connection,,,thats if fuel wires run near the stereo,,,,then again,,,it may be something competely different,,,here is a list.....fuel injection?

2)intake manifold vacum leak.
3)insufficient fuel pressure.
4)fuel injection,,or engine control system malfuction.
........ENGINE STALLS...................1)idle speed incorrect,,,2)fuel filter clogged or water or dirt in fuel,,(when did u put gas in it),,,3)emissions system componets faulty,,,4)spark plugs,,check plug wires,5) vacume leak at intake or manifold,,check vacume hoses....6)fuel injectors or carb.

yes they do have something to do with the wireing and the fuel pump as there are wires running up and under and down the panels of every car and there is a real good chance thatthat is what happened im sorry i do not have a wireing gramm for this kind of car but i do know that you are your husband can reconnect the wires to the same color of the wires that was cut and it should be ok if not then the fuel pump might be going out but try a fuel pressure guage ok thanks.............and god bless...........

Wirediagram.com will have the wiring info...have the goof come back and reconnect all the wires the way they were and run power for radio from the original radio wiring power---red wire?, cig lighter or fuse block. Hope he didn't short something out--check fuses for fuel pump.
