For some reason or other my turn signals are NOT working, when I flip the switch either way I get nothing... ...Not even that clicking sound you'd hear from any turn signal indicating it's turned on. Some times NOT even the brake lights work. It's NOT the light bulbs because they are brand new. I am thinking it may be the wiring, but I'm NOT sure and I really need to find out how to fix this problem. I really dont have the extra cash to pay a mechanic $110.00 per hour to sniff out the problem... in addition to that my rear defroster is also NOT working. I need some info on how to make this right... without spending a bundle of money I dont have... Thanks in advance...

It's going off like every hour. I looked outside and there's nobody or cats out there. It turns off when I hit the button, but sure enough, an hour later, here it goes again. We have to have alarms on at night in this neighborhood. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?

When I wash my car I still have what looks like grease and oil prints on my car? I have tried all types of cleaners that promise to take out grease and oil stains, but they look ok when you are washing them but as soon as the car dries, well you guessed it the stains are still there. I have tried almost everything, I even accidently tried somestuff that almost took the paint off still nothing. Please help me
Thanks

a few days ago i was driving my truck and all the sudden my lights started flashing (dash lights, radio, headlights etc) and my truck lost power. Its acting like there is a huge electrical short but i have not found one, and none of my fuses are burned out. I have looked at all the wiring i could find but nothing major seemed to be wrong. I turned it off once it started going crazy and when i couldn't find ne thing i started it back up. it was fine till i took it out of park and put it into reverese, it started stumbling and died i started it back up in park and again it runs fine, till i try drive again it dies. i don't know what the problem is i've heard a theory that it might be my distributor.... can anyone help me?

i have a no-name, 5hp, 30gal air compressor that i bought from Kragen. It has never worked as well as a tank that size should. I let it run until it shuts off (once the tank is full), and after that, I have only a really strong supply of air for maybe 5 full minutes before i begin to lose serious pressure. And with no real pressure behind them, my air tools are too weak to do anything worthwhile. I cannot even remove the nuts off of my tires! Oil level is fine, the hose has no leaks that i can see, and the tools are properly maintained and oiled everyday. What am i doing wrong? Is it because I should have done things the right way and bought a Craftsman? .....thanks 4 any help.

The motor misses, with the tap, but otherwise starts and runs smooth. Until it warms up. Once the engine is warm or hot, it begans to pop, and have a detonation knock, which actually sounds like timing, but I am not sure what that has to do with the tapping noise and the miss.

I drive a '98 Mazda 626 and I broke down yesterday. A horrible grinding noise was coming from under the hood of my car a few hours before I broke down, but I had to drive it to work - I had no other choice. I took it to Firestone (the only place it could be towed on a Sunday that was close to me) and they said I need a new water pump, timing belt, and some sort of spring that is under the timing belt?
It turns out that the belt or something near it was grinding up against my engine and little silver shavings had gotten into everything, and apparently my water pump is not functioning properly. They are telling me that I will have to pay $880 - does that sound right?

Also, the latch on my trunk is broken (it is stuck open) and I asked them how much it would cost to put a new latch on - they quoted me $300. I said "no thanks" to that. Is every auto shop going to give me the same price for a little latch?

Much help is appreciated as I know next to nothing about cars.

I just bought a new car and the shop that put the filter on really tightened it down. I had my dad try and get it off, but he put a dent in the dang thing trying to twist it off. So I'll have to take it into a shop so they can do it. And I just put new oil in it figuring I change the filter later, right? It's a 2000 Z28 Camaro if that matters. I think the oil sits in the oil pan and you can take off the filter without any oil coming out right?

I am in the process of upgrading my 1947 Ford to 4-wheel disc brakes. I currently have the stock pedal and master cylinder. Front brakes are stock and have a Ford 9-inch in the rear. I have the kit for the front disc and one for the rear disc, Do not know what to do for a master cylinder. I am not sure if power is the way to go either.

thanks Mike

I currently have a 91' Volvo 240, its runs good has 183,000 miles, no A/C,radio, and the paint is horribly chipped all over. I have put about $1,300 dollars in repairs. Over all it's a good car and 2 mechanics I have talked to said that it has relatively low mileage. Now I have an offer to buy a 95' Buick Regal Custom(has V6 engine, air and radio, leather seats) with only 44,000 miles for $800, but needs $600 to get it running.
Do ya'll think my Volvo is worth keeping for another 100,000 miles and put a lil money into it to have it looking a lil better and A/C or go for the American car?(my personal experiences with american cars have not been great, but has A/C/radio/and low miles)??????

A family member just bought a 25 year old car that screeches extremely loud, and was told that it was not the breaks. The car sat for 5 years up until now. It also needs the whole tie end rod and axle in front rebuilt. Other than that, the car is in great condition.
