I currently have a 91' Volvo 240, its runs good has 183,000 miles, no A/C,radio, and the paint is horribly chipped all over. I have put about $1,300 dollars in repairs. Over all it's a good car and 2 mechanics I have talked to said that it has relatively low mileage. Now I have an offer to buy a 95' Buick Regal Custom(has V6 engine, air and radio, leather seats) with only 44,000 miles for $800, but needs $600 to get it running.
Do ya'll think my Volvo is worth keeping for another 100,000 miles and put a lil money into it to have it looking a lil better and A/C or go for the American car?(my personal experiences with american cars have not been great, but has A/C/radio/and low miles)??????

I've heard that Volvo's are very reliable cars, but it's getting up there in the mileage and you never know when something might happen. If the car is in really poor condition, I doubt you'll be able to sell it for more than the guy is selling his Buick for. You'll probably need some money handy either way to do cosmetic repairs on your Volvo or mechanical repairs on the Buick. I would buy the Buick, but don't sell the Volvo right away in case something falls through. Make sure the car needs only minor work and get it in writing! You don't want to buy the car and then found out it's got a transmission problem or blew the head gasket. The Buick will probably be a little less fuel efficient, but their all around a good car. Best of luck.

I would get the newer car. The Volvo must have become a sore spot with you or you wouldn't be looking elsewhere. I found that I just get tired of a vehicle then start complaining about it. If you can be assured that $600 will get the Buick running with this repair, it sounds like a good deal the with working AC. I have done the same thing myself. I unloaded a car I put a thousand in a while before and purchased an Oldsmobile that needed $500.00 to get running, and I enjoyed many miles in a car that drove down the road like floating on a cloud .

I would sell your car, those are awesome and someone will want your car right away. Go for the custom, summer is coming and it will be nice to have a smooth ride. You know what I mean. I always wanted a regal custom. THats a great
deal too! I do agree with you about american cars being crappy so.. Thats my only bad feeling about it. Did u see it in person already? Is it for sure only going to take 600 to get it running again? Good Luck on this:)

seems such as you will have an idle air administration motor project. This ingredient components extra air at idle by way of a passage interior the throttle physique so as that the automobile will idle easily. you're able to desire to examine the tcc solenoid yet this won't reason the engine to not choose to crank back after stalling and could not reason a surge in park. The IACM won't reason it to not crank back the two so which you additionally could have ignition administration module problems.purchase a provider instruction manual and consider those products , they are very help finished even with a loss of mechanical expertise.
